Miss America 2024 Is A US Air Force Lieutenant

After defeating 50 other competitors in the national competition on Sunday, Madison Marsh, a 22-year-old second lieutenant in the United States Air Force and master’s student studying public policy at Harvard Kennedy School, became the first active-duty officer to be awarded Miss America 2024. Madison Marsh represents Colorado.
According to The Post, Marsh was the only Air Force officer serving on active duty to compete for the Miss America title prior to her triumph.
She said, “You can achieve anything,” in an interview posted on Miss America’s Instagram following her victory, as reported by People Magazine. The only person stopping you is yourself, and the sky is not the limit.”
In a message on X, the former name for Twitter, the U.S. Air Force honored Marsh’s accomplishment by calling her “our very own.”
There were 51 participants in the Miss America 2024 final in Florida, representing 50 states and the District of Columbia. Eleven of them, ten chosen by preliminary judges and one chosen by the general public, made it to the semi-final.
Following four tough stages that included a fitness runway walk, a “hot topics” conversation, a talent show, and an evening gown presentation, the semi-finalists were chosen to move on to the next level.

In her discussion of “drugs in America,” Marsh brought up her mother’s battle with pancreatic cancer and the issues of terrorism, technology, nutrition, and climate change.
Marsh gave a spoken-word performance at the talent show on getting her pilot’s license when she was sixteen.
