Javed Afridi Claims That MG4 Can Travel From Lahore To Peshawar On A Single Charge
December 3, 2022 / By Zunair Tahir / Automotive News
Javed Afridi has once more taken to Twitter, this time to discuss the MG4 electric hatchback. Being the driving force behind MG vehicles in Pakistan, Afridi frequently tweets and posts information on different MG vehicles, regardless of whether they are offered there or not.
Javed Afridi recently revealed photographs of the new MG4 along with other important details about the electric car in a tweet. According to him, the MG4 can operate for 490.85 kilometer’s on a single charge and can be completely charged in 35 minutes.
This distance will allow the MG4 to travel on the Lahore to Peshawar motorway without the need to recharge, according to Afridi.
MG4 made its debut early this year and is already causing a stir in the regions where it is available (MG4 is known as MG Mulan in its native China). It is the first worldwide EV vehicle from MG to start selling in Europe.
The MG4 is touted as the least expensive EV in MG’s portfolio. It is built on the Nebula MSP (Modular Scalable Platform) for battery-powered cars and equipped with Rubik’s Cube batteries. In European markets, it is seen as an inexpensive substitute for vehicles like the Volkswagen ID.3 and the Nissan Leaf EV. The MG4 is praised for its eye-catching design, good equipment lineup, and impressive drive range.

Two battery choices are available for the MG4 EV: a 51 kWh battery for a 350 km driving range and a 64 kWh battery for a 450 km driving range. Later on, a high-performance permanent magnet synchronous motor projected to deliver 330 kW of power and an enormous 600 Nm of torque is scheduled to be installed in a flagship AWD variant.
This model will have a peak speed electronically limited at 159 km/h and be able to go from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3.8 seconds.
After making its premiere in Europe, the MG4 EV will also be on sale in New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, South America, and the Middle East in the first quarter of 2023, and it will thereafter be made available in a number of additional areas. We must wait to learn whether MG would offer the MG4 EV in Pakistan; the business already sells the ZS EV here for PKR 62.5 lac. Otherwise, it can be misconstrued as Javed Afridi’s latest tweet.
