2024 MG 3 (2nd Generation)

Expected Launch Date December 2024

The first MG hatchback, the MG 3, will be introduced in Pakistan by Morris Garages (MG) Motors, a Chinese-owned British automaker. In its second generation, the car is available on the foreign market. The owner of MG Pakistan, Javed Afridi, has teased the launch of the MG 3 in Pakistan for less than 2 million rupees. If it happens, the MG 3 will be one of the country’s most accessible hatchbacks.

Under the Automotive Development Policy 2016-20, MG Motors Pakistan was recently granted greenfield status. The carmaker is currently offering imported CBU units of the MG HS and MG ZS SUVs. MG Pakistan will begin local assembly of its vehicles soon. However, if and when the MG 3 enters the MG car lineup, it will be available in CBU form, much like its siblings.

MG3 ENGINE

The 1.5L NA inline petrol engine is the only choice for the MG 3. The 1498cc engine produces 82 kW of power at 6000 rpm and 150 Nm of torque at 4500 rpm. A 4-speed automatic transmission is included with the 4-cylinder engine. The engine has a 45-litre fuel capacity.
Its spare parts will be readily available on the market, and its upkeep will be inexpensive and simple.

When it comes to riding and performance, the MG 3 has received negative feedback. It has a rough ride with a lot of unpleasant vibration. The buzzy motor makes the ride unpleasant, and it gets exceedingly noisy at high speeds. The terrible ride is exacerbated by the inaccurate gearbox and sluggish clutch. Because the suspension is stiff, the ride becomes jerky and jerry on bumpy roads. The only time it performs well is when it comes to body control and grip.

MG3 INTERIOR

Although the inside of the MG 3 appears to be stylish and utilitarian, it is made of cheap, scratch-prone plastic. The five-seater hatchback comes standard with reclining front seats, height-adjustable driver’s seat, height-adjustable front head restraints, and outboard rear head restraints, as do other hatchbacks in the same price category.

Both variations have the typical front door storage boxes with bottle holders. Standard storage includes a front cup holder and front seatback map pockets. Sun visors with vanity mirrors for the driver and passenger, leather-trimmed steering wheel with contrast stitching and perforation detail, premium trimmed gear knob with alloy-look highlight, and satin chrome highlights on the door handles, air vents, and steering wheel are among the other standard features. In the middle console, there is also a 12V PowerPoint accessory.

The speedometer with digital odometer, rev counter, water temperature and fuel gauges, distance to next service indication, trip computer with fuel consumption and range to empty, and tire pressure monitoring system are all standard equipment. The car’s temperature is kept cool by the electronic control air conditioning system.

The dashboard has an 8-inch multipurpose touchscreen display. It only has Apple CarPlay compatibility and does not have Android compatibility. The Core model has four speakers with Bluetooth, USB, and a front Yamaha Sound Field, while the Excite variation has six speakers with Bluetooth, USB, and a complete car Yamaha 3D Sound Field.

MG3 EXTERIOR

The MG 3 comes standard with the MG ‘Exclusive’ Grille, which features a chrome surround and chrome accents.

Highlighted with a satin silver inlay. The 5-door hatchback has a stylish and practical design. Projector halogen headlights with adjustable height adjustment are standard on both models, as are LED ‘London Eye’ daytime running lights (DRLs). Follow me home delayed headlight lighting and an automated headlight illumination system are also standard on both models.

Blinking lights on the warning alarm, heated glass rear window with timed cut-off, intermittent rear wiper, and intermittent windshield wipers are all standard on the MG 3. Only the Excite model has side sill extensions, and both types have metallic paint as an option. The MG 3 Core has 15-inch alloy wheels, while the Excite model has 16-inch two-tone machined alloy wheels.
