Suzuki Celebrates 80 Million Sales Worldwide In Total Since 1955

Suzuki Celebrates 80 Million Sales Worldwide In Total Since 1955

October 6, 2023 / By Zunair Tahir / Automotive News

In October 1955, The Brand’s First Automobile Was Introduced

Suzuki, a global manufacturer of cars and motorcycles with its headquarters in Shizuoka, Japan, has achieved an amazing milestone by selling 80 million cars worldwide as of the end of August 2023. The firm presently has 15 production sites in 10 different countries, producing automobiles, motorcycles, outboard marine engines, and other items.

It offers its goods in 184 different countries throughout the world. Of the 80 million automobiles that have been supplied to far, 36% were sold in Japan, 10% in Europe, 13.5 % in Asia, 32.6 % in India, and 7.8 % elsewhere in the world.

With the introduction of the Suzulight, Japan’s first mass-produced mini-vehicle, in October 1955, Suzuki’s road to 80 million units started. The business entered the small car sector with the 1965 release of the Fronte 800, significantly increasing its presence in the worldwide auto industry.

With the beginning of worldwide sales in 1959, Suzuki’s influence expanded outside Japan. The business started its first overseas vehicle production project in Pakistan in 1975, which was the first in a string of fruitful foreign production expansions.

Important landmarks include the development of industrial facilities in Hungary in 1992 and India in 1983.

The Suzuki Alto stands out as one of the company’s all-time hits among its array of primarily tiny and compact cars. The model, which was introduced in 1979, has sold an astounding 20 percent of the 80 million vehicles.

“We appreciate having so many loyal consumers. Our best-selling model, the Alto, has had a major impact on both the history of Suzuki’s minivans and the company as a whole.

Osamu Suzuki, president of Suzuki, says, “We will continue to work to deliver value that embodies our manufacturing core of “Sho, Sho, Kei, Tan, Bi (Smaller, Fewer, Lighter, Shorter, Beauty)” by reestablishing our foundation in “customer-focused value,” a philosophy that was passed down from our founder.

The carmaker is anticipating the next generation of one of its most significant contemporary models as it celebrates the milestone of 80 million units sold.

The 2016-released Suzuki Swift third generation is about to give way to a new model, and only a few days ago, a concept vehicle was unveiled, providing a sneak peek at what is to come.

This car, though officially a concept, seems to be a close preview of the next production model. The concept car was recognizable but had undergone significant evolution.

Notable alterations included relocated rear door handles, fixed glass in the back doors, and a noticeable character line running from the front to the back. Additionally, Suzuki may provide an electric engine for the vehicle as indicated by the “Hybrid” label on the front fender and the side mirror-mounted cameras.

Afaz, A New Motorcycle Brand From Suzuki, Features Scooters And Budget Motorcycles

Afaz, A New Motorcycle Brand From Suzuki, Features Scooters And Budget Motorcycles

September 25, 2023 / By Zunair Tahir / Automotive News

Suzuki and Malaysian business KMSB have entered into a legally binding agreement to launch the Afaz brand. The components required for Malaysian manufacture to satisfy growing local demand will be provided by the Japanese.

Malaysia is fortunate since Suzuki and Kuala Lumpur-based KMSB Motors have joined forces to introduce the Afaz brand.

The Malaysian Prime Minister’s Office hosted the signing event. Among those present were Suzuki Chairman Toshihiro Suzuki, KMSB Chairman Faez Yahaya, and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

AFY Mobility Industries Sdn. Bhd. owns KMSB. In actuality, Suzuki Malaysia’s only stockholders are Malaysians. In the Southeast Asian nation, Suzuki motorbikes are also manufactured and sold.

Suzuki will begin providing engine and fairing parts for the 110cc to 150cc Afaz models in the first half of 2024 under the terms of the agreement. Suzuki’s plants in Asia will supply the parts.

At the event, Suzuki’s president stated: “Suzuki would want to contribute to the growth and prosperity of the Malaysian motorcycle market and industry in addition to motorcycle sales by providing replacement parts to KMSB.

Afaz is anticipated to make a significant contribution to the local economy while also creating lots of job opportunities in a nation in need. Malaysia’s motorbike industry is still expanding, particularly in the business sector. As a point of reference, there were 718,000 motorbikes on the market in the nation in 2022.

The introduction of Afaz occurs at the same time as Malaysia’s release of the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030), in which the Prime Minister defined the key goals for the nation’s industrial sector through 2030.

More precisely, NIMP 2030 seeks to establish Malaysia as a major participant in a variety of industries and a global leader in industrial growth.

Important individuals like Datuk Seri Isham Ishak, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), and Datuk Wira Arham Abdul Rahman, Executive Director of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), attended the grand launch of the new motorbike brand with the Prime Minister of Malaysia, the Chairman of the Board of KMSB, and the Chairman of the Board of Suzuki.

What sort of motorbikes Afaz will create is unknown at this time. They will probably certainly focus on the Malaysian mass market category that sells the most products, which includes scooters and budget motorbikes.

However, we anticipate them to also unveil some mid-range motorcycles. On the other hand, we are aware that the business will start its own research and development, marketing, and innovation effort. a project created especially to meet the demands of the Malaysian market.

Suzuki Introduces The Limited GSX-S1000 Race Edition In France

June 30, 2023 / By Zunair Tahir / Automotive News

The Limited-Edition Naked Bike Honors The Suzuki Endurance Racing Team’s Efforts In The EWC 2023

Suzuki had indicated its intention to retire from racing entirely. This was mostly true, since the brand withdrew from the MotoGP, the most renowned racing series on two wheels.

However, the Japanese manufacturer elected to continue racing in the EWC with the extremely successful Suzuki Endurance Racing Team, which is now ranked fourth in the 2023 standings.

Suzuki will introduce a special edition Hayabusa modelled after the renowned Bol d’Or endurance event in France in the autumn of 2022.

This time, with summer in full swing, Suzuki has unveiled yet another limited-edition sports bike. The Japanese firm has introduced a Race Edition of the famous naked bike, the GSX-S1000, this time. Here, we discover a one-of-a-kind color scheme inspired by the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team, as well as a few thoughtful improvements to offer the bike a sportier feel and increased performance.

Suzuki has effectively taken a normal GSX-S1000 and dressed it out in goodies that make it a track-ready motorcycle with the Suzuki GSX-S1000 Race Edition.

To begin, it receives a tail tidy for a more sporty appearance, as well as a full suite of GB Racing engine and crankcase covers. Of course, nothing says track-ready like a seat cowl and red-painted Brembo callipers. The Race Edition also has an Akrapovic slip-on system to give the bike a bit extra snarl.

In addition, the limited edition naked sport bike comes with a numbered SERT FW plate and a Welcome Pack that includes a cap and a T-shirt.

Nothing truly changes in terms of performance, since the Race Edition is mainly a cosmetic upgrade kit, save for the Akrapovic slip-on, which may add two or three ponies.

Nonetheless, it’s propelled by Suzuki’s tried-and-true 999cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, inline-four cylinder engine, which produces 152 horsepower.

In terms of cost and availability, the Suzuki GSX-S1000 Race Edition is only available in France. The bike costs 16,999 Euros ($18,468 USD) with a selection of bolt-on equipment and a stylish livery, which is 3,500 Euros more than the normal model. The GSX-S1000 retails for $11,299 USD in the United States.

The Suzuki V-Strom 800DE Gets A New Slip-On System From Akrapovic

For This Middleweight Explorer, The Dazzling Slip-On System Offers Less Weight And Better Performance

Without a question, Suzuki’s unveiling of its middleweight machine range for 2023 was a huge success. The Japanese firm has already come under fire for its lack of creativity and for moving slowly by relying on antiquated technologies. Without a doubt, the brand’s brand-new assortment gave it a much-needed new lease of life.

A new 776cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, parallel-twin engine with an output of 83 horsepower and 57 pound-feet of torque has replaced the 650cc V-Twin featured in the SV650 and V-Strom 650. A number of cutting-edge technological innovations, including an up and down quickshifter, traction control, LED lighting, and a full-color TFT display, have been added by Suzuki in addition to the improved performance.

Given this, it is obvious that the V-Strom 800DE and GSX-8S will be big successes, and the fact that their respective aftermarkets are expanding quickly will undoubtedly contribute to this success.

Speaking about aftermarket equipment, many of us replace the exhaust system on our bikes as one of the first modifications. The Suzuki V-Strom 800DE now gets a brand-new slip-on exhaust system from Slovenia’s Akrapovi, one of the most well-known manufacturers in the world.

Naturally, aftermarket exhausts do three things: first, they greatly reduce weight; second, they maximize engine performance (thanks to manufacturers like Akrapovi). In an ideal world, any noise produced by such an item would just be considered a byproduct.

Let’s face it; the majority of us install aftermarket exhausts on our motorcycles mostly for the sound. However, given recent changes in the aftermarket business, all of this could soon alter; however, it is a subject for a different tale.

There is no need to worry about the Akrapovi new slip-on system being legal in European nations because it is fully homologated to ECE and Euro 5 requirements in the case of the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE.

The brand makes some astounding promises about performance, including a 23.6 percent weight reduction and an increase of one horsepower and one Newton-meter (around 0.7 pound-feet) of torque. Like it typically does in its exhaust systems, Akrapovi used a lot of titanium and carbon fibre to attain this small weight.

Due to its slip-on design, the system is very simple to install. It attaches straight to the standard manifold and makes use of existing gear.

The flamboyant exhaust system from Akrapovi will undoubtedly cost a premium, both in terms of price and availability. Although the company hasn’t released official price, we can anticipate that it will cost at least $1,000 USD, considering this is what Akrapovi charges for exhaust systems for models that are close to it, including the Yamaha Tenere 700 and Aprilia Tuareg 660.

For The Fourth Time In 2022, Pak Suzuki Have Raise Bike Prices

August 3, 2022 / By Zunair Tahir / Automotive News

Following Atlas Honda and Yamaha, Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) has also raised the price of their motorbikes as a result of the devaluation of local currency.

This is the fourth price increase PSMC has announced for its motorcycles this year. The new ex-factory costs for PSMC bikes as of August 1 are as follows:

Suzuki’s GD 110S, GS 150, GS 150SE, and GR 150 all had starting prices of Rs. 199,000, Rs. 215,000, Rs. 232,000, and Rs. 315,000, respectively, at the beginning of 2022.

This indicates that costs have increased this year by up to Rs. 50,000. Last year, PSMC hiked bike costs four times. Suzuki bike costs increased by much to Rs. 28,000 between January and December 2021.

Two-wheelers are now out of the price range for the majority of purchasers due to the bike industry’s recurrent price increases over the past two years. The bike sector in particular need the government’s attention because of this problem.

People of Pakistan are facing serious economic crisis and the companies are increasing the prices of their bikes day by day and for the local people it is very difficult to afford a good bike now and if u assume that a private job person whose salary is around 40,000/: is not able to afford these Suzuki bikes in this price range he will be forced to buy used bike or that bike whose maintenance is low and parts are easily available in the market.

(PSMC) Has Reportedly Decided To Discontinue Cultus

June 25, 2022 / By Zunair Tahir / Automotive News

The Suzuki Cultus will reportedly no longer be sold in Pakistan by Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC). They have been informed by a source that one of the company’s best-selling vehicles would be discontinued in the coming months. According to reports, Cultus will be officially discontinued in the coming months.

2022 Suzuki Price List In Pakistan

Sources claim that the firm intends to highlight the recently released Suzuki Swift as their main offering. The corporation wanted customers to flock to the new Swift because “Cultus was dangling midway between sales of Alto and Swift,” they continued.

According to reports, Alto and Swift sales had an impact on Cultus sales, and the business intended to heavily market Swift while boosting Alto sales.

It further stated that Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) wanted to increase sales of the Suzuki Alto. The Suzuki Alto sold 9,814 units in March 2022, 5,009 units in April, and then a small increase to 5,461 units in May 2022, according to the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA).

The Suzuki Cultus will no longer be sold in Pakistan, but Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) has not yet officially announced this. The Suzuki Cultus is one of the company’s best-selling vehicles and was just introduced in 2019, thus it seems quite improbable that they will move forward with the choice.

It is important to note that on social media, there have been reports that Suzuki will rerelease “The Boss” alias Mehran for a very low cost. However, these speculations are untrue, and after being phased out in 2019, everyone’s favorite hatchback is not making a comeback.

In 2017, the brand-new Cultus became live. The hatchback was introduced in three variations by PSMC: VX, VXR, and VXL. Since its debut, Cultus has dominated the 1000cc market in the home country.

Airbags, power windows, power steering, an immobilizer, and keyless entry are all available on the Cultus. A scarcity of airbags caused PSMC to have to postpone the production of Cultus a few months ago.
