FBR Ends Custom Duty On the Import of 2-3 Wheeler EVs:

Here is an encouraging news for electric vehicle importers ordered by the Federal Revenue Board FBR to terminate the custom duty on imports of 2-3 wheeler EVs such as electric bikes, Fully Built Unit CBU condition, electric car rickshaw and 3-wheeler electric loader by 30 June 2025. In this respect, the FBR has issued an official notice.

According to the notification issued by FBR, an extra customs duty will not be available until 30 June 2025 on imports of electric 2-3 wheeler CBU vehicles coming under Pakistan Customs Tariff PCT codes 8703.8030 electric car rickshaw, 8711.6040 electric motorcycle and 8711.6060 electric 3-wheeler loader.

In order to encourage electric vehicle technology in the region, the government of Pakistan has taken another measure. The Extra Customs Duty (ACD) on imports of electric 2-3 wheelers up to 30 June 2025 has been exempted by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).The Completely Built-Up (CBU) units of the following EVs can now be imported free of ACD:

Electric auto-rickshaw
Electric motorcycle
3-Wheeler electric-loader
