Morris Garages (MG) Pakistan has gotten a lot of press for showcasing GT at Lahore’s Packages Mall. Car aficionados and onlookers have praised its design and appearance, and are now eagerly anticipating its arrival in Pakistan.

The corporation is providing an opportunity to test drive the vehicle. Its social media post encourages people to snap photographs with the car and share them with the hashtag ‘The Next MG’ on their social media pages. The business will submit these people’s names into a fortunate lottery, with the winner receiving a test drive of the automobile.

In Pakistan, the MG GT competes against the Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, and Hyundai Elantra in the C-Segment sedan segment. The yellow MG GT at Packages Mall is a left-hand drive import with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated motor that develops 118 horsepower (hp) and 155 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque and is coupled to an automatic transmission that transmits power to the front wheels. According to rumours, a turbo-version will also be available.

From November 27th, Al-Haj Automotive has been quietly watching while other carmakers raised the pricing of their automobiles. The new costs for the Proton Saga have finally been published by the company.

Although just one car has received a price increase, the increase is Rs. +224,000 over the entire portfolio, which is rather substantial. It takes effect instantly.

The first batch of domestically produced Saga vehicles has been delivered to Proton Pakistan dealers throughout the country. It’s a low-cost entry-level sedan marketed as a replacement for hatchback buyers who would have bought the Toyota Vitz, Honda Fit, or Suzuki Swift.

CAR SPEC

The Standard Manual, Standard Auto, and Premium Auto are the three major varieties available in Pakistan. A 1299 cc naturally aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine with 94 horsepower and 120 Nm of torque is available in all models. Depending on the version, the engine will be mated with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission.

In comparison to the Completely Built-Up (CBU) variations, the locally built Saga offers the following extra features:

A comfortable center console with an armrest

Parking sensors at the front for convenience

Body-roll is reduced by using a strut tower brace.

On the boot lid, there is an NVH guard.

The bonnet has an NVH (Noise Vibration Harshness) protection.

Changan Pakistan has hiked the price of their cars by Rs120,000.

Changan Pakistan has hiked rates throughout its whole portfolio by Rs120,000, just a month after lowering prices. The company cited rising freight and delivery costs as the reason for the rise.

After announcing the Alsvin sedan’s debut price in January, the Chinese automaker raised the price of its two automatic models by up to Rs101,000 barely two months later in March. Changan was one of the last automakers to lower automobile prices in July, following the government’s announcement of different incentives. The new policies were designed to relieve the load on the general public, stimulate vehicle sales, and encourage local businesses. Reduced sales tax and extra customs charge were among the numerous incentives given.

The firm told its authorised dealerships on Tuesday that all of its vehicles will be sold at reduced rates, according to a circular published on Tuesday. The Covid-19 has resulted in increased freight charges and total shipment costs, according to the report.

The circular continued, “The firm has no alternative but to pass on part of the increased costs to the product price,” and asked dealers to explain the situation to customers.

According to the notice, all Alsvin versions have witnessed a price increase of Rs120,000. Alsvin 1.3 M/T is now available at a lower price of Rs2,269,000, down from Rs2,149,000. Similarly, the price of the Alsvin 1.3 DCT has increased to Rs2,519,000 from Rs2,399,000 previously. Alsvin Lumiere 1.5 DCT is now priced at Rs2,709,000, up from Rs2,589,000 before. Karvaan and Karvaan plus would now cost Rs1,519,000 and Rs1,659,000, respectively, after a Rs120,000 price increase.
Similarly, the Changan M9’s price has increased from Rs1.234,000 to Rs1,354,000.

Ateeq Ur Rehman, an economic and financial analyst, has claimed that freight rates by road, air, and sea are becoming more expensive with each passing day, emphasizing that competition is raising the cost of doing business for both importers and exporters.

The federal government made vehicles with engines up to 850cc cheaper earlier this month by eliminating the Federal Excise Duty (FED) and lowering the Sales Tax to 12.5 percent from 17 percent. Everyone was ecstatic when they heard the news. Despite this, many people preferred to hear the phrase 1000cc instead than 850cc.

So, what’s this? The government has complied with our request. Shaukat Tarin, the Finance Minister, has announced the continuation of tax exemption for automobiles up to 1000cc, making all domestically built 1000cc cars cheaper.

When Will Automobiles Become More Affordable to Consumers?

Okay, so the government has enacted the Fiscal Budget 2021-22, which includes lower taxes on automobiles with engines under 1000cc. But the real question is when prices will start to fall. And the response is July 1st, 2021.

The budget has been considered and approved by the government in the National Assembly. It will be deployed in the beginning of next month. From July 1st onwards, the revised pricing will be in effect.

In the meanwhile, customers who get automobiles this month will be charged the existing price. If the invoice for the car has been issued, the buyer must pay the current price. There’s no getting around it.
