GPX Reveals Exclusive GTM250R Café Racer For Japan Only

Retro-style motorcycles will never go out of style. Even companies with few past accomplishments are producing retro-inspired motorcycles that are more about appearance than tradition. Consider the manufacturer GPX, which is situated in Thailand and was established in 2007. The company offers a large range of retro-styled devices that are marketed in several Asian regions under various labels. It introduced the GTM250R, a new model, in Japan.

When it comes to technology, the GTM250R at least has some significantGPX’s effort to create a limited-edition vehicle only available in Japan is the GTM250R. It is a replacement for the GPX Gentleman Racer 200, a reasonably priced yet elegant device that gained popularity due to its neo-retro cafe-racer characteristics.
Regarding the new GTM250R, it has a headlamp cowl with a throwback feel, just like its predecessor. The bike seems streamlined because the fuel tank, seat, and tail section all have straight lines that are parallel to the ground. Strangely, behind the saddle, there’s a fake crankcase that’s actually a component of the bike’s bodywork.
enhancements over the basic version. The 250cc fuel-injected single-cylinder engine of the GTM250R replaces the 197cc carbureted single found in the Gentleman Racer 200.
It produces 20.4 horsepower, which isn’t exactly an exhilarating ride but is plenty for a quick commute around town. The GPX weighs 148 kg, but with a full tank of petrol, we could expect it to be closer to 160 kg (353 pounds).
The bike’s foundation is essentially the same as that of the previous model. The 17-inch wire-spoke wheels of the GTM250R are covered in road-focused rubber, and the suspension system consists of a rear monoshock with preload adjustment and an inverted front fork.
It’s interesting that the bike has two radially mounted front disc brakes. This is a little excessive for a little bike, so it’s clear that the looks were the main consideration.
Regarding cost and accessibility, the GPX GTM250R will only be available in Japan and will have a 150-unit production run. There are three colors available:
- Red
- Black
- Yellow
The price of this limited edition retro-inspired gadget is 566,500 yen, or around $4,007 USD, for those who wish to obtain one.
