From November 27th, Al-Haj Automotive has been quietly watching while other carmakers raised the pricing of their automobiles. The new costs for the Proton Saga have finally been published by the company.

Although just one car has received a price increase, the increase is Rs. +224,000 over the entire portfolio, which is rather substantial. It takes effect instantly.

The first batch of domestically produced Saga vehicles has been delivered to Proton Pakistan dealers throughout the country. It’s a low-cost entry-level sedan marketed as a replacement for hatchback buyers who would have bought the Toyota Vitz, Honda Fit, or Suzuki Swift.

CAR SPEC

The Standard Manual, Standard Auto, and Premium Auto are the three major varieties available in Pakistan. A 1299 cc naturally aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine with 94 horsepower and 120 Nm of torque is available in all models. Depending on the version, the engine will be mated with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission.

In comparison to the Completely Built-Up (CBU) variations, the locally built Saga offers the following extra features:

A comfortable center console with an armrest

Parking sensors at the front for convenience

Body-roll is reduced by using a strut tower brace.

On the boot lid, there is an NVH guard.

The bonnet has an NVH (Noise Vibration Harshness) protection.

Due to faulty fuel lines, Pak Suzuki Motor Company has halted Alto deliveries.

The demand for the Suzuki Alto in Pakistan is unrivalled, according to official sales figures provided by the Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC).

PSMC is reportedly delaying Alto deliveries to dealerships owing to broken gasoline lines, according to recent market reports. A countrywide recall has also been ordered for recently-built units that have already been sold to customers.

According to insiders, the corporation has not publicly acknowledged the issue and is seeking to resolve it without telling customers.

Quality control concerns such as poorly fitting panels, flimsy bodywork, and tyre size and quality are commonly expressed by Suzuki Alto owners. There have also been reports of many Altos being involved in collisions in which the airbags failed to deploy.

Petroleum dealers are going on strike across the country starting today.

KARACHI: The Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) declared on Wednesday that they will go on a nationwide strike starting tomorrow (November 25) to protest what they describe “poor profit margins.”

According to PPDA Secretary Noman Butt, all petrol stations across the nation, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, would close at 6 a.m. on Thursday for an extended duration.

The secretary of the PPDA bemoans the fact that the government continues to reject their demands.

He stated that the government has continued to reject their demands, and that they would not engage in negotiations with authorities unless their profit margins on petroleum product sales are enhanced by 6%.

Butt said that the administration had already assured the gasoline dealers that their demands would be satisfied, hence the strike had been called off.

“We called off the November 5 strike after getting assurances from the administration that our demands will be met,” Noman Butt stated.

The PPDA secretary responded to a query by saying that no government official had contacted them regarding their requests so far.

The Chip Shortage in the Automobile Industry is Nearing an End – Morgan Stanley

The Global automotive industry has been ravaged by the semiconductor microprocessor crisis, causing several carmakers throughout the world to hack their production statistics and implement cost-cutting measures. Several analysts have predicted that the situation would continue to deepen over the following two quarters.

In contrast to these reports, Morgan Stanley (MS) recently said that the global car industry’s microprocessor shortfall is nearly gone.

Countries in Southeast and Central Asia, such as China, Taiwan, Malaysia, South Korea, and Japan, as well as the Netherlands and the United States, are among the world’s top microchip producers.

CAR PRICE IN PAKISTAN

According to recent reports from MS, Malaysia has resumed full-scale semiconductor production, and the rest of Asia’s manufacturers will soon follow suit.

Along with the growth in Malaysian manufacturing in October, vehicle production and cloud data center server shipments are expected to improve. These components are projected to boost automobile manufacturers’ production and sales statistics in the near future.

MS also stated that the Japanese chip manufacturing lines will stabilize by December, allowing automakers to fill gaps more quickly.

However, automobile costs are unlikely to fall in the future since chipmakers are predicted to raise prices for their products because chips are still a scarce commodity in a market still recovering from the pandemic’s effects.

In Islamabad, a vintage and classic Automobile Event VCCCP is a major Success

ISLAMABAD: Car enthusiasts flocked to the Vintage & Classic Car Show on Tuesday, which showcased 35 vintage and classic vehicles, some of which were pretty ancient and even pre-date Pakistan.

The Vintage and Classic Cars Club of Pakistan (VCCCP) organized the ‘Heritage on Wheels’ in partnership with the Islamabad Serena Hotel.

Visitors could be seen snapping photographs with them and stroking them in astonishment as these antique beauties defied description.

The oldest car in the exhibition was a 1922 Amilcar constructed in France; others were a 1954 Austin Healey, 1955 TR, 1955 Ford Thunderbird created in the United States, a blue Rolls Royce (1972 Model), a dark green Mazda 818 (1971), scarlet Mustang Ford (1965), Baby Mercedes 190 SL, and MG TD Kit Car (1952).

Rehan had driven his Mazda 818, a green beast from 1971, all the way from Karachi to Islamabad. My family is accompanying me on this journey, and it has been a wonderful experience, said Rehan. He said, “My wife and kids are also travelling with me.”

When questioned if owning and maintaining a historic automobile was a costly pastime, Yousuf Rao, owner of the MG TD Kit Car, said he was in the gold and jewelry industry and owned a number of other antique cars, including a Volkswagen, Beatle, and Moped Bike.

VCCCP

The Vintage and Classic Cars Club of Pakistan, according to Mohsin Ikram, was founded roughly 30 years ago to bring together automobile lovers from all across Pakistan and promote the sport under the theme of “history on wheels.”

We’ve been presenting our automobiles at various vintage car exhibits around the country, he added, noting that they recently displayed their classic cars at the Fort of Bala Hisaar.

Some of our automobiles, he explained, have a long history: one (Packard 1929) belonged to the Maharaja of Patiala, another (Lincoln Continental 1947) to King Zahir Shah of Afghanistan, and so on.

The event was part of Serena Hotels’ Cultural Diplomacy, according to CEO Aziz Boolani.

They took part in the 11th VCCCP Karachi to Khyber Classic Car Rally 2021, and will depart for Peshawar on Wednesday for the rally’s last stage.

The club has organized various motoring and social events for its members. Such events have created an awareness and encouraged those who are lucky enough to have an old family vehicle in their backyard or locked up in a garage sitting idle for decades, to bring it back to life and on the road where it belongs.

The Amazing show was placed in Lahore at Lahore Polo Club and to see the Dazzling Display of Vintage & Classic Cars of Pakistan at the Final of Noon Polo Cup Final in Lahore.

GOVT Refuses to Allow Vintage Car Import

The government has declined to offer a one-time exception for antique automobile imports. The trade ministry had presented a case to the cabinet in this respect at a meeting held last week.

The participants were notified by the Commerce Division that the Import Policy Order (IPO) 2020, Appendix-C, Clause 10 indicated that the import of second hand/used automobiles was prohibited, save for those explicitly exempted under Chapter 87.
Pakistanis are prohibited from importing secondhand automobiles, even vintage vehicles.

With PHEV and EV variants on the coming, it’s a technical marvel.

The Range Rover 2022 is here, and it offers more flexibility and technology than the model it succeeds. The Range Rover now has a third row, making it a more tempting family hauler and a more competitive car in its price range, while new technology is sure to entice those who can’t get enough of four-wheeled gadgetry.

There are two wheelbases for the two passenger layouts. The new three-row vehicle is about 8 inches longer than the ordinary Range Rover and has a foot more wheelbase, allowing for more leg room in the second and third rows.

The Range Rover is offered in plug-in hybrid* and mild hybrid versions, staying true to its heritage while still being ready for the future. In 2024, a completely electric Range Rover will be added to the lineup.

The fifth-generation Rover will be available with two turbocharged engines at launch. P400 vehicles come standard with a 3.0-liter inline-six engine that produces 395 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque and is backed up by a 48-volt mild hybrid system. A 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 from Land Rover’s new (again) German partner, BMW, is available in the P530. The V8 produces 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque, making it the most powerful engine in the series. The new 4.4 engine, according to Land Rover, will accelerate the P530 vehicles to 60 mph in under 4.4 seconds.

And a Range Rover wouldn’t be complete without some eye-catching interior upgrades. While the Autobiography is set to return in 2022, SV will not arrive until 2023. The SV Serenity variant featured above looks to be a “exquisite rendition of Range Rover luxury and personalization,” according to Land Rover.
