Lucky Motors to Bring European Car Brand Stellantis To Pakistan

Lucky Motors to Bring European Car Brand Stellantis To Pakistan

December 10, 2021 / By Zunair Tahir / Automotive News

A license and technical support deal has been reached between the Stellantis Group and the Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC) Ltd.

Under the terms of the deal, the LMC has been given the right to assemble, manufacture, market, distribute, and sell the group’s passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Pakistan.

As we know the Stellantis Car Brand but many of us have seen and heard Stellantis Brand name for the First time Stellantis is a European Car Manufacture and in Europe it is the 4th Largest Car Manufacture and its very Popular among European people.

The LMC and Groupe PSA, which is now part of the Stellantis Group, inked an MoU and expression of interest (EoI) in mid-2019. The LMC (then known as Kia Lucky Motors) alerted the government of its plans to work with Peugeot, a Stellantis Group brand, last year before obtaining the production license under the government’s new entrant program.

“Within the Automotive Development Policy (ADP) 2016-2021 timeframe, we propose to construct cars of a Stellantis Group brand at our production site in Bin Qasim Industrial Park (BQIP), where Kia vehicles are built,” stated LMC’s CEO.

He claimed the new European endeavor will cost €10 million, but he didn’t say whether any specific vehicles will be produced before the 2016-2021 Auto Development Policy expires on June 30, 2021.

It’s too early to tell how Lucky Motors will sell Peugeot vehicles in Pakistan. Is there going to be a new dealership network or will the existing KIA dealerships sell and service Peugeot cars? This is something that needs to be investigated. Perhaps the present KIA dealerships will also become Peugeot dealerships. This will save time, and an existing infrastructure will be able to accommodate two distinct brands of automobiles. It’s conceivable since dealerships can sell and service both brands if Lucky can build them.

He stated that the government has continued to reject their demands, and that they would not engage in negotiations with authorities unless their profit margins on petroleum product sales are enhanced by 6%.

Butt said that the administration had already assured the gasoline dealers that their demands would be satisfied, hence the strike had been called off.

“We called off the November 5 strike after getting assurances from the administration that our demands will be met,” Noman Butt stated.

The PPDA secretary responded to a query by saying that no government official had contacted them regarding their requests so far.

GOVT Refuses to Allow Vintage Car Import

GOVT Refuses to Allow Vintage Car Import

November 11, 2021 / By Zunair Tahir / Automotive News

The government has declined to offer a one-time exception for antique automobile imports. The trade ministry had presented a case to the cabinet in this respect at a meeting held last week.

The participants were notified by the Commerce Division that the Import Policy Order (IPO) 2020, Appendix-C, Clause 10 indicated that the import of second hand/used automobiles was prohibited, save for those explicitly exempted under Chapter 87.
Pakistanis are prohibited from importing secondhand automobiles, even vintage vehicles.

The Fifth-Generation Range Rover Debuts in 2022 with a Third row and BMW V8 engine.

The Fifth-Generation Range Rover Debuts in 2022 with a Third row and BMW V8 engine.

October 28, 2021 / By Zunair Tahir / Automotive News

With PHEV and EV variants on the coming, it’s a technical marvel.

The Range Rover 2022 is here, and it offers more flexibility and technology than the model it succeeds. The Range Rover now has a third row, making it a more tempting family hauler and a more competitive car in its price range, while new technology is sure to entice those who can’t get enough of four-wheeled gadgetry.

There are two wheelbases for the two passenger layouts. The new three-row vehicle is about 8 inches longer than the ordinary Range Rover and has a foot more wheelbase, allowing for more leg room in the second and third rows.

The Range Rover is offered in plug-in hybrid* and mild hybrid versions, staying true to its heritage while still being ready for the future. In 2024, a completely electric Range Rover will be added to the lineup.

Interior:

Details

The fifth-generation Rover will be available with two turbocharged engines at launch. P400 vehicles come standard with a 3.0-liter inline-six engine that produces 395 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque and is backed up by a 48-volt mild hybrid system. A 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 from Land Rover’s new (again) German partner, BMW, is available in the P530. The V8 produces 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque, making it the most powerful engine in the series. The new 4.4 engine, according to Land Rover, will accelerate the P530 vehicles to 60 mph in under 4.4 seconds.

And a Range Rover wouldn’t be complete without some eye-catching interior upgrades. While the Autobiography is set to return in 2022, SV will not arrive until 2023. The SV Serenity variant featured above looks to be a “exquisite rendition of Range Rover luxury and personalization,” according to Land Rover.

Is Faw v2 Discontinued !! In Pakistan

Is Faw v2 Discontinued !! In Pakistan

September 21, 2021 / By Zunair Tahir / Automotive News

Dealers claim that the FAW V2 has been discontinued in Pakistan.

While the firm has not publicly stated that the model would be phased out, its approved dealerships in the country have told Business Recorder that they are no longer accepting new bookings for the FAW V2 according to company directives.

The move, according to a dealer, was motivated by a number of factors, including low sales data.

Last year, sales of the 1,300cc car fell, and the launch of Proton further reduced revenue from the FAW V2 portfolio.

The Al-Haj Automotive Group launched the FAW V2 in Pakistan in 2014 as a less expensive alternative to the Suzuki Swift. The hatchback had a 1300cc engine that produced 90 horsepower and 120 Nm of torque and was connected to a 5-speed manual transmission at the time.

Company Not Accepting New Bookings

The firm began producing it domestically within three years. However, you can no longer reserve a car. It has been reported on the market that it has been discontinued.

“Its sales decreased considerably,” the firm says, avoiding disclosing that the V2 has been withdrawn. However, the major cause is that component manufacture in China has ceased. It has also been phased out in South Africa, where right-hand drive automobiles are used in the same way as in Pakistan.”

Last year, however, the FAW V2’s price increased multiple times to Rs. 1.61 million, making the car no longer a cheap choice for customers. However, it should be noted that the competition was still more costly, since other Pakistani automakers increased their prices.

Despite the fact that the V2 was nothing out of the usual and had its own set of problems, the firm did pay attention to customer complaints and did its best to address them, such as recognized gear difficulties and cabin wind noise.

The Most Expensive Car Registration in Punjab Has Been Completed! Total: 53 Lakhs

The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has recently completed the province’s most costly automobile registration. The authorities, according to sources, has registered a Mercedes AMG G63 for Rs53 lacs.

The Mercedes G63 AMG is finished in Diamond White and has a 4,000cc engine.

According to estimates, the automobile costs Rs13 crore and 19 lakhs, making it the most costly registered car in Punjab. The car’s assigned number is AEG-063. Furthermore, the automobile is on bank lease and registered in the name of First Habib Modaraba.

The Lamborghini Huracan Spyder was once the most expensive automobile registered in Punjab. The vehicle was valued at Rs11 crore. Meanwhile, the registration fee was more than Rs4.5 million.

Arjumand, the owner of a Lamborghini Huracan Spyder (sports variation), paid Rs4.532 million for the vehicle’s registration, which had previously been refused because the department’s system could only register automobiles costing less than Rs100 million.

The government then updated its mechanism for registering such high-value automobiles.

The provincial department excused itself from registering the Lamborghini because the registration deadline was Rs10-crore. The officials informed the reporters, “The department couldn’t register any automobile beyond this price limit.”
The department, on the other hand, changed its regulations, updated its software, and then registered the automobile.
The Lamborghini owner informed the media that he was still unable to register the car. He told the reporters, “I’ve been coming to the excise office for 10 days, but I’m shocked there is no law in Punjab to register such automobiles.”
The most expensive automobile registered in Punjab before Lamborghini was a Mercedes GT Series.

On August 27, Sazgar Engineering Works Limited (SEWL) submitted an official notification to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) indicating that “commercial manufacturing of the BAIC cars would begin with effect from September 1, 2021, following a successful conclusion of the trial operation.”

The video, on the other hand, implies that the business has already started producing its automobiles.

For fans, vehicle purchasers, and experts, SEWL’s silence on BAIC’s formal debut in Pakistan had been cause for alarm, but BAIC may have chosen a wise approach to the local auto industry’s persisting issues.

Several new manufacturers, including MG JW, Al-Haj Proton, Prince DFSK, and Master Changan Motors, have been chastised by automobile customers owing to repeated delays in vehicle delivery, which is a problem that the automakers are attempting to resolve.

The majority of the delays have been caused by obstacles in the overseas shipment of Completely Built-Up (CBU) units that these manufacturers have advertised for Pakistan.
BAIC has clearly made a deliberate choice by starting manufacturing of the cars before the official launch, which will undoubtedly allow it to have a big market effect by keeping up with increasing demand better than its competitors.
