‘GTA 6’ Is Expected To Be The Most Expensive Game Yet, Breaking The Bank

‘GTA 6’ Is Expected To Be The Most Expensive Game Yet, Breaking The Bank

May 17, 2023 / By Zunair Tahir / Tech News

New RPGs and adventure games are quickly evolving into contemporary blockbusters, with price tags to match, as the video game business has grown into a multi-billion dollar industry with a global audience.

The amount of money needed to create and promote games has grown tremendously, with most AAA titles now having budgets excess of USD$100 million. However, according to recent estimates, the next Grand Theft Auto game may top all others as the most costly video game ever created.

Grand Theft Auto 6, a highly anticipated game by Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive Software, is expected to have a massive production budget of “USD $1-2 billion” after accounting for marketing expenses, according to Dexerto.

Last year, GTA 6 saw a significant leak that exposed video of the game’s early builds and a tone of incomplete gameplay, prompting Rockstar Games to affirm that it is really working diligently on the following installment. However, the studio hasn’t spoken anything about the incident since then and has maintained total radio quiet about it.

The cost of creating video games has significantly increased in recent years, in part due to the lengthier production cycles and current games’ growing complexity and size. Given Rockstar’s concern with little details and how sophisticated and expansive its games are, GTA 6 is one of the most eagerly awaited games of the decade and there is a potential that it might increase production expenses.

GTA 6 has also been under production for about ten years, and the longer it takes to create a game, the more money it will cost.

For comparison, the outrageous cost of making GTA 5 was believed to be USD$265 million (AUD$396 million) when it was published back in 2013. In spite of its astronomical price tag, GTA 5 surpassed all predictions on launch day, earning nearly USD$800 million (AUD$1.2 billion) in hard currency. And it hasn’t stopped there. The game is still doing well thanks to re-releases for the next generation and the consistently well-liked and expanding GTA Online.

As of 2023, GTA 5 had earned USD$7.7 billion (AUD$11.4 billion) for Take-Two and was still a huge money producer for the business. Therefore, it wouldn’t be a leap to see GTA 6 approaching or even exceeding the billion-dollar threshold given those figures. Prepare yourselves, people!

Star Citizen, a crowdfunded game that has managed to accrue around half a billion dollars since 2012, is currently the most costly game in the world. It’s wise to approach any information about GTA 6’s budget with a healthy grain of cynicism because Rockstar Games hasn’t verified any of it and much of it is just conjecture based on the information available.

According To Reports, A New Counter-Strike Game Is Being Developed & Might Release This Month

According To Reports, A New Counter-Strike Game Is Being Developed & Might Release This Month

March 8, 2023 / By Zunair Tahir / Tech News

According to Rumours, Valve will shortly start beta testing the “CS:GO” sequel.

After more than ten years, Valve is apparently getting ready to reveal a new iteration of its iconic tactical game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Furthermore, a beta release may show up as early as this month. A successor to CS:GO has been under development by Valve for a while, according to esports writer Richard Lewis (via VGC), and it is “almost ready to go.” He claims that the game’s first-person shooter just had a covert playtest inside the studio, attended by a number of professional gamers who travelled to Seattle.

Lewis claims that by April 1st at the latest, Valve hopes to start beta testing the game with the larger Counter-Strike community. One of Lewis’ sources told him, “The key goal is getting this out and then refining it, correcting any issues and bringing it up to the quality people expect from CS.

Regarding enhancements, it is said that Source 2, the most recent version of Valve’s proprietary game engine, would be used behind the scenes in the next Counter-Strike, which will supposedly have better graphical fidelity. Lewis also claims that the game will work with 128-tick servers, bringing CS into line with Valorant and lowering latency.

The matching experience is also believed to have been considerably enhanced by Valve, which should reduce the community’s reliance on other services like FACEIT. When Engadget asked Valve for a response, no one at Valve responded right away.

Although rumor’s about a new Counter-Strike game’s forthcoming release have been circulating for years, this most recent story is more credible for a number of reasons. First off, Richard Lewis, the journalist who broke the news, has a solid track record. In 2015, Lewis revealed that a top-tier professional CS:GO squad had purposefully tossed a match.

Second, his statements are supported by supporting evidence. Early this month, some CS:GO fans uncovered references to “csgo2.exe” and “cs2.exe” in Nvidia’s GPU drivers going back to February.

Although there have long been rumours that a new Counter-Strike game is imminent, there are a few reasons to give this most recent story more credence. Lewis has a proven track record, to begin with. He published a report in 2015 that supported claims that one of the top professional CS:GO teams at the time had deliberately blown a match.

Moreover, there is evidence to back up his assertions. Around the start of the month, a few CS:GO enthusiasts unearthed proof that NVIDIA’s GPU drivers had included references to “csgo2.exe” and “cs2.exe” since February.

According to sources, Valve wants to release and polish the game to satisfy fans’ expectations before starting beta testing with the larger Counter-Strike community no later than April 1st.

According to rumor’s, the forthcoming edition of Counter-Strike will include upgraded visuals due to a shift to Source 2, Valve’s latest in-house game engine. Also, according to reports, the game will feature 128-tick servers, which will lower latency and align CS with Valorant.

Moreover, Valve has significantly enhanced the matchmaking process, potentially lessening the community’s reliance on other services like FACEIT.

Forza Horizon 4 will no longer get new vehicles or features prior to the release of Forza Horizon 5.

The studio’s next game, Forza Horizon 5, will be published in November 2021, according to Xbox’s E3 2021 preview earlier this month.

Playground also highlighted the future game’s influence on Forza Horizon 4 content production on Monday’s edition of video show Forza Monthly. Following the release of the Series 37 update for Forza Horizon 4 on June 29, subsequent updates will not feature new content.

Playground senior producer Tom Butcher remarked, “With Forza Horizon 5’s release being our priority over the next several months, we’ve made some modifications to Forza Horizon 4’s monthly series updates.”

“As a result, beginning with Series update 38, players who are familiar with the game will notice the restoration of material from Series 7 to 32. Consider it a mix tape that includes the return of some of your favorite material as well as newly introduced new features.”

“Although we aren’t expecting to introduce any brand-new vehicles or features in the coming months, you should have a lot of fun reliving these situations and seeing how you manage them the second time around,” he continued. Photo challenges, prizes, the Forzathon Shop, and backstage voting will all be available as usual, thanks to all of our latest Series updates.”

When asked if the game will continue to receive updates after the release of Forza Horizon 5, Butcher stated, “We do intend to make sure Forza Horizon 4 continues to be a great experience, but we aren’t ready to disclose precise plans quite yet.”
