The $3,499 Vision Pro from Apple Has A Release Date At Last

According to Apple, the much-anticipated Vision Pro headset will be available for purchase in the US on February 2.

Although a debut date for the UK has not been announced, US buyers may pre-order the $3,499 (£2,749) mixed-reality device starting in mid-January.

It is the company’s first significant new product introduction since the 2015 debut of the Apple Watch.

In June 2023, the headgear was unveiled by the corporation following years of speculation throughout development.

However, problems have arisen since then. The Financial Times reports that Apple has cut its manufacturing estimates in half, from an expected one million devices in 2024 to only 400,000 units.

In addition to the release date, Apple said that the gadget would have 256GB of storage and made it clear that, in the case of an individual who is not able to utilize both eyes equally, the eye-tracking technology in the headset will be able to monitor one dominant eye.

Interestingly, though, the company is attempting to distinguish the headset from competing products by instructing developers to refer to their applications as “spatial computing” rather than “headgear.”

It stated in a blog post aimed at developers, “Don’t label your app experience as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), extended reality (XR), or mixed reality (MR).

If it is effective, Apple may be able to generate new multibillion-dollar revenue streams. However, given that so many people worldwide struggle to pay for necessities, the expensive cost will probably confine this to the status of a toy for the wealthy.

The “mixed-reality” experience consists of digital stuff that is projected into your environment.

Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, the celebrity is closing down her popular smartphone game, which she released nearly ten years ago.

Players have been increasing their notoriety and moving up the social scale since 2014, realizing their A-list ambitions.

The 43-year-old made appearances in the game with her family members Kris Jenner and Khloé Kardashian.

Kim, however, told US magazine People that she would “forever be inspired” by the game’s community and confirmed the closure.

Hollywood was released by the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star in collaboration with mobile game company Glu.

Although it was a free-to-play game, users could buy K-stars, the in-game money, to advance in events, modeling, and dating.

“I’m so grateful from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has loved and played Kim Kardashian: Hollywood in the past 10 years,” she stated.

Although creating the game had “meant so much” to her, she stated that it was now “time to focus that energy into other passions”.

Though the game is no longer available in the Apple and Android app stores, users can continue to use its features till April 8th.

A countdown ticking down to the game’s closure has been added, according to recent pictures.

Hollywood apparently made more than $160 million after overcoming early skepticism after its premiere.

Gaming website Polygon recognized it as a paradigm for “mobile games unapologetically tailored toward young women” and included it among the top 100 games of the decade.

Scientists have demonstrated the first semiconductor made of graphene that functions. The finding may permanently alter electronics and computers.

Researchers have achieved a significant advancement in the field of electronics by producing the first functional semiconductor ever using graphene, a substance renowned for its strength, flexibility, light weight, and high resistance.

Their finding coincides with the limiting of silicon, the raw material used to make almost all contemporary devices.

Due to the fact that graphene semiconductors are faster and more energy-efficient than silicon, scientists have been working feverishly to produce them.

According to the authors, the finding opens up new possibilities for the development of electronics and may represent a significant advancement towards the next generation of computers.

The limits of silicon semiconductors are being reached.
Bits, or ones and zeros, are represented by electricity passing through silicon switches in classical computers, such as the chip in your laptop or phone.

“All computers require semiconductors in order to operate. They enable us to design little switches that can be used to turn on and off energy. Computers are able to conduct computations because of the energy that flows through electrical circuits,” said Sarah Haigh, a materials professor at the National Graphene Institute at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom.

After a complete set of specifications leaked, NVIDIA teases the
GeForce RTX 40 SUPER Series, which includes the GeForce
RTX 4080 SUPER with a 2,550 MHz boost clock and 23 Gbps of memory.

Although NVIDIA hasn’t revealed what it will be revealing at its Special Address at CES 2024, a new promotional image that has been posted to the company’s official GeForce social media pages, including the GeForce Brazil account and Facebook, suggests that it may be the GeForce RTX 40 SUPER Series.

Here’s a big, wallpaper-worthy version of the NVIDIA graphic that appears to tease the GeForce RTX 40 SUPER Series as something extraordinary, even if it will share the same shroud as the current standard versions, complete with ARGB lighting effects:

Shortly after the complete specifications for the GeForce RTX 40 SUPER Series leaked online, exposing higher base and/or boost clocks for every model—including a faster memory clock for the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER—the new promotional picture was released.

Apple has announced that it would challenge the US government’s decision to prohibit the sale and import of its Series 9 and Ultra 2 timepieces.

The step was taken after the Biden Administration decided on Tuesday not to relax limitations due to a patent dispute in an emergency manner.

Masimo, a manufacturer of medical devices, has charged Apple of stealing its technology and staff.

As a result, the US International Trade Commission banned the import and sale of Apple watches.

Apple “pre-emptively” banned the devices from US retailers and its website earlier this month. There has been no impact on sales elsewhere.
