GNL said that it had begun assembly of the SUVs and that the first batch of cars will be delivered in April and May. The Tiggo 4 is a five-seater SUV with a 1.5L Turbo engine, while the Tiggo 8 is a seven-seater SUV with a 1.6 Turbo engine. The Toyota Fortuner and BR-V were the only domestically built SUVs prior to the Auto Development Policy (ADP) 2016-21. However, since the government’s policies permitted the car sector, over a dozen SUVs were released.

In the country, they’re being put together. GNL, on the other hand, does not qualify as a greenfield or brownfield site under the program.
Chery SUV assembly has begun at GNL’s Port Qasim factory, according to Zain Afzal, director marketing and sales. He said that they had received requests for bookings of 3000 units during the pricing announcement and booking beginning event.
According to Khalid Mehr, director of sales commercial vehicles at GNL, the company’s yearly capacity on a single shift basis is 16,000 units.
He went on to say that they were now donating 250 units each month, which will be gradually raised. It was revealed that GNL will put $10 million into the project during the first four years.
Anas Mehmood Trunkwala, COO of World Automobiles, GNL approved dealers, highlighted key characteristics of the SUV and expressed his delight with its pricing. “The SUVs are reasonably priced, and their features are unrivalled.” They were confident in their ability to grab a significant portion of the SUV market.
The SUV was booked on a “first come, first served” basis, according to Shahzaib Mehmood Trunkwala, president of World Group. “We will introduce Chery in Islamabad very soon.”
At the moment, the SUV sector has the greatest number of possibilities. The car industry forecasts that by 2030, the high-priced sector would have captured the largest share of the market – around 37 percent.
