According to Tuesday’s report from Geo News, Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), plans to return to Pakistan by the middle of September.
Nawaz will depart for Pakistan from London “after a month,” according to a Sharif family insider who spoke on the condition of anonymity. In the middle of September, the former prime minister will likely return to Pakistan.
- According to a family source, Nawaz would go for Pakistan “after a month.”
- Within a week, Shehbaz Sharif anticipated travelling to London.
- Sources claim that PML-N is preparing a grand welcome for Nawaz.
The PML-N leader’s trip to Europe and the Middle East, which began two months ago and concluded last week when Nawaz arrived in London, had been recommended by the Sharif family’s legal and political advisers to terminate immediately and return to Pakistan. Nawaz has been persuaded by certain PML-N members, nevertheless, to arrive in mid-September.
“Nawaz Sharif’s decision to return to Pakistan after ending nearly four years of exile is final and everything is in order,” the person who has been involved in the negotiations and preparations stated.
Shehbaz Sharif, a former prime minister, and Maryam, the senior vice president of the PML-N, have been in touch with Nawaz often over the ups and downs of his return to Pakistan.
The insider claimed that Shehbaz, the former PM of Pakistan who has since resigned, will arrive in London in less than a week to see Nawaz.
Rana Sanaullah, Khawaja Asif, Javed Latif, Saad Rafique, Parvez Rasheed, Irfan Siddiqui, and many more prominent PML-N members are scheduled to travel to London over the next three weeks to discuss and organize for Sharif’s homecoming.
According to the source, Nawaz would receive a grand welcome from the PML-N after arriving in the UK in November 2019 for medical treatment and deciding to remain after the allotted court term has passed.
The PML-N aims to mobilize tens of thousands of supporters when the party supremo lands in Lahore, according to Hina Pervez Butt, the party’s top social media campaigner and a former provincial lawmaker who is currently living in London and has met Nawaz.
The source claimed that Nawaz’s cases are unaffected by the recent Supreme Court ruling on the Supreme Court (Review of Judgements and Orders) Act 2023.
As soon as the former prime minister lands in Pakistan, the Sharif family’s attorneys will begin a thorough legal defense of Nawaz in all relevant matters.
Shahbaz revealed to Geo News last week that his older brother will visit Pakistan in September. “The decision of the Supreme Court has no bearing on Nawaz Sharif’s return,”
Nawaz Sharif has finished the five-year period of disqualification, he added.
Additionally, Shehbaz stated that the maximum time for disqualification is five years under the current statute. This ruling will not prevent Nawaz Sharif from running again. Next month, Nawaz Sharif will return to Pakistan, where he will stand trial and oversee the election campaign.
On November 19, 2019, Nawaz arrived in London before becoming seriously unwell inside a jail. The family said that Imran Khan’s administration and those who support him attempted to poison Nawaz, which caused him to suffer. He had four months of care at the Harley Street Clinic and London Bridge Hospital.
The three-time prime minister was identified as having an immune system illness, and experts in Pakistan advised him to seek treatment outside of the nation since his health was not improving despite receiving the finest care available there.
