For The Ducati DesertX, Mivv Introduces The New Dakar Exhaust System

It’s obvious that this bike has its origins in rally racing even though it was created to be one of the brand’s most proficient adventure bikes to date.

The design of the bike immediately brings to mind the Dakar Rally, one of the toughest off-road competitions ever, both for the vehicles and the courageous riders who take on the challenging terrain.

As a result, it is understandable why this bike is so well-liked. The bike, which just recently entered the worldwide market in 2022, is currently a favorite among both recreational and ardent adventure riders. Obviously, a vast range of aftermarket accessories also accompany this popularity.

Almost every aftermarket expert offers a selection of goods that let you customize your DesertX as you choose. Of course, when it comes to enhancing a bike that is already quite stunning, personal choice typically has the ultimate say.

This is particularly true in the case of aftermarket exhausts, where virtually all manufacturers promise a sizable weight reduction in addition to a few horsepower and torque boosts.

Riders have several options for the Ducati DesertX, as is obvious. An additional exhaust system has just been made available by Italian exhaust maker Mivv, expanding the bike’s already extensive array of exhausts. It’s called the Dakar, and as its name implies, it uses some of the same technology as some rally bikes.

Given this, the majority of people who want to alter the exhaust on their Ducati DesertX most likely do so for the reasons of sound and style. The Mivv offers all you need in these areas since the Dakar build enables you to give the DesertX a more competitive appearance while also improving its cosmetics.

Upon closer inspection, Mivv asserts a 2.2 horsepower and 2.6 Nm improvement in torque. A 1.1 kg weight reduction over the conventional exhaust is also promised.

The exhaust system’s ECE approval makes it road legal in terms of both noise level and adherence to emission rules, which is the best part.

The Selling Price Of The Homologation Superbike Is Comparable To $100,000

The Ducati Panigale V4 S is one of the most powerful sportbikes available right now. This bike is best characterised as a superbike for the street and is the weapon of choice for both athletic street riders and ardent track enthusiasts. All things considered, the Panigale V4 S’s more expensive sister raises the bar on performance.

We’re referring about the Panigale V4 R, a street-legal, homologation-only model created in support of the WorldSBK ambitions of the House of Borgo Panigale. At 15,500 rpm, the 2023 Panigale V4 R produces 218 horsepower. To achieve a faster peak speed on the straightaways of the circuit, Ducati has improved the bike by upping the maximum revs to 16,500 rpm in 6th gear.

Additionally, the updated Panigale V4 R can now produce an astounding peak power output of 240.5 horsepower thanks to the addition of a new race exhaust and specially formulated gasoline created by Shell.

Ducati has added cutting-edge innovations to boost the Panigale V4 R’s extra power. Despite being often used in MotoGP motorcycles and Formula 1 race cars, the employment of gun-drilled titanium connecting rods and DLC-coated pistons helps to provide this boost, which is a ground-breaking accomplishment for a road bike.

Ducati has also unveiled a brand-new piston shape that dramatically lowers inertia and loses five grams of weight.

Along with the current package, additional engine modes have been added to compliment the improved capabilities. Full and Low, the new settings, provide two different riding sensations. The V4 R’s entire power is released in entire mode, giving riders their highest level of performance.

The Low mode, on the other hand, restricts the power to 160 horsepower, producing a more muted and “relaxed” riding experience that is especially appropriate for usage on public roads.

The 2023 Panigale V4 R has received some extra improvements from Ducati. The Ducati Quick Shift technology has been updated to provide smoother shifts when the throttle is applied partially or fully. The NPX25/30 pressurized fork now delivers an enhanced travel of five millimeters while preserving the dependable Ohlins suspension, enhancing overall suspension performance.

Ducati has increased the swingarm pivot location to improve agility, which results in a 20-millimeter increase in rear height. The enlarged 17-liter gasoline tank is another noteworthy improvement that enables longer journeys without the need for regular refueling.

Introduced Officially: 2023 Ducati V21L MotoE Electric Race Bike

Introduced Officially: 2023 Ducati V21L MotoE Electric Race Bike

March 21, 2023 / By Zunair Tahir / Automotive News

Ducati formally stated on March 17, 2023, that the all-electric V21L prototype vehicle would be unveiled at the Vallelunga track in Italy. This bike marks Ducati’s entry into the realm of electric motorbikes in general and electric race bikes in particular. Ducati will be the only manufacturer for the MotoE title starting in 2023, which was also given world championship classification for the first time this year.

Throughout The 2023 Season, 18 Of These Vehicles Will Compete In The One-Make Competition

Ducati estimates the V21L’s power to be 150 horsepower at the present level of technology and its torque to be 103.3 pound-feet.

The V21L’s total vehicle weight is 496 pounds, which is 26.5 pounds less than what Dorna and the FIM currently consider to be the minimum weight for an electric vehicle that can run the entire competition route. It has thus far clocked a pace of 170.9 miles per hour at Mugello.

“A key component of the Ducati plan is the choice to compete in the MotoE World Championship as the single supplier of the motorcycles. To lower Ducati’s carbon impact and enable us to meet our long-term environmental objectives, electrification will actually be essential, along with the introduction of carbon neutral fuels for internal combustion engines (e-fuel), according to a statement from company CEO Claudio Domenicali.

However, he added, “Every genuine Ducati is, above all, feeling, so it is very essential to handle this shift very carefully, taking care to keep the sporty character and fun-to-ride traits of every Borgo Panigale bike.

“With the V21L, we set out to push the industry’s boundaries by making the highest-performing electric motorbike ever built for the racetrack. In order to be prepared when battery technology, specifically weight, makes it feasible to build an electric street motorcycle with all the qualities that make a Ducati distinctive, we prioritised developing the Company’s internal knowledge.

The chance for Ducati to research potential traits for a future electric Ducati is tremendous with 18 riders on the track at once, each with distinct needs and riding preferences, Domenicali said.

The initial evaluations in Jerez were excellent. Despite adverse conditions, the bike received excellent reviews from riders and teams, setting a new unofficial circuit record. This is a task within a challenge for us because Ducati has never produced as many prototypes,” he said.

The first round of testing was at the start of March, and the second round is scheduled for Barcelona from April 3 to April 5, 2023. The only two preseason trial days planned for 2023 are those two. On May 13, 2023, at the French Grand Prix in Le Mans, the MotoE season will formally begin. Nine teams will send a total of 18 motorcyclists to participate in this year’s MotoE world championship.
