The rerecorded version of American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift’s 2012 song “All Too Well,” which was released in November, became a mainstream sensation.

Fans were moved by it, and the short video that accompanied it was hailed as a masterpiece because it touched them emotionally—especially because they could relate it to the musician’s romantic life. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that the well-liked short has earned an Oscar nomination.

The song “We Cry Together” by Kendrick Lamar is also up for best live action short.

“A film about an effervescent, inquisitive young woman who ends up absolutely out of her depth,” Swift said of her directorial debut. It has reportedly gotten an Oscar qualifying run, making it eligible for the award for best live action short, one of the three categories the Oscars have designated for movies with running times of under 40 minutes.

Sadie Sink of Stranger Things and Dylan O’Brien of Teen Wolf feature in the almost 15-minute film, which the pop diva, who has never before been nominated for an Oscar, has emphasized is “not a music video.” To direct its awards campaign, her team is now collaborating with a reputable consulting firm.

Swift also wrote and directed the movie, which had its New York debut on November 12 and was shown there for a week from November 12 to November 18. The song was also referred to be Billboard’s longest-running no. 1 hit.

The vocalist of “Shake It Off” isn’t the only artist competing for the Oscar for best live action short. We Cry Together by American rapper Kendrick Lamar also made the list. He and Taylour Paige from Zola’s six-minute short film, which was published in May and exhibited in a Los Angeles theatre from June 3 to June 9, qualified it for the competition.

The video is a throwback, and the scenery and clothing design alone reflect that. Retelling the rivalry between Maula Jatt and Noori Natt, as portrayed by Fawad Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi, the narrative begins with the mother piteously lamenting that she was unaware that by giving birth to her son, she was bringing death to the entire community.

Is Johnny Depp Returning To ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’

July 5, 2022 / By Zunair Tahir / Entertainment News

No, Johnny Depp Is Not Returning To ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’

In the aftermath of the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial, which inspired a flood of sympathy for the former Pirates of the Caribbean actor, a preposterous story recently circulated online, riding the tide of starry-eyed love.

According to the allegation, Depp will be paid at least $301 million to reprise his most famous role as Captain Jack Sparrow. The report also said that a Disney Plus series that would examine Jack Sparrow’s formative years may be in the works (despite Depp currently being 59 years old).

The allegation is just untrue, as much fun as it could be to witness an ageing Depp portray the younger version of a part that he has been phoning in for at least the previous two movies.

Pirates of the Caribbean’s full budget of $301 million is an absurd sum. At World’s End is not a low-budget movie (indeed, Davy Jones still holds up as one of the most convincing CGI creations ever put to screen).

Fans, though, are still hopeful to see him. One significant illustration of this is a petition on Change.org to have Depp return as Jack Sparrow, which has amassed over 500,000 signatures and is almost at one million (via Change).

The fact that thousands of individuals showed their support for Depp through a petition at a time when his popularity was at its lowest should mean something.

While one of the main factors in the success of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise was Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow. Some viewers believe the absence of him would ruin the franchise’s next film.

But following the Depp v. Heard trial, the general public’s perception of the actor significantly changed in his favour, to the point that many people have shown interest in seeing him in the movie once more.

There are two Pirates of the Caribbean films presently in production. The forthcoming Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is the first of the two. The protagonist of the second movie, which is unrelated to the first two and is under production, will be played by Margot Robbie.

Depp was allegedly set to get $22.5 million for his sixth appearance as Jack Sparrow before being let go from the trilogy; during the height of his fame, he made $50 million for the third movie, At World’s End. Even Depp believed he was getting paid too much for his role in the series; in an interview with Vanity Fair in 2011, he stated:

“Basically, I’m going to take it if they’re going to pay me the dumb money right now.”
Since Depp is shortly scheduled for another court appearance after being accused of hitting a staff member, it is absurd to imagine that Disney would give any actor that much money, much less one who has shown to be such a liability on site.

Avatar 2: The Way Of Water Trailer Released

Avatar 2: The Way Of Water Trailer Released

April 10, 2022 / By Zunair Tahir / Entertainment News

It’s been a long time coming–more than a decade, in fact–but the Avatar sequel is finally here. The film will be released later this year under the title Avatar: The Way of Water. On April 27, the first footage from the long-awaited sequel was shown at the CinemaCon exposition in Las Vegas. The trailer for the film has now been available online.

The movie shows the breathtakingly magnificent landscapes of Pandora, an Earth-like habitable extrasolar moon of the Alpha Centauri gas giant Polyphemus, which was also the location of the original film. The ocean or water is featured prominently in a number of scenes. The Na’vi appear once more. Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) are also back. This time, though, they appear to be accompanied by a group of younger, cuter copies of themselves, who appear to be their offspring.

The blueness of it all spreads throughout the trailer. “Wherever we go, our family is our stronghold,” Jake says at one point in Avatar 2, which looks aesthetically spectacular and promises to be more family centred.

“With the first Avatar, we set out to push the bounds of the big screen,” director James Cameron is believed to have declared while unveiling the clip for the first time. We’re pushing those boundaries even farther with the upcoming Avatar movie, with 3D, high dynamic range, high frame rate, better resolution, and a lot greater realism in our visual effects.”

Avatar 2 will feature a range of new performers and roles, including Kate Winslet and Michelle Yeoh, in addition to some of the film’s other returning cast members including Sigourney Weaver and Giovanni Ribisi. With just this small taste of the film, it’s clear to see why some of these performers were less than enthusiastic about working on set.
