Although disabling read receipts is a standard privacy setting, many users might not be aware that they can go much farther. You can disable your “last seen” option with the touch of a button, and it’s simpler than you may imagine.

How to turn off the ‘last seen’ feature

How do you disable WhatsApp’s last seen feature, then?

Go to Settings > Account > Privacy after opening your app on a mobile device.

The ‘last seen’ option should be found.

Then, three options are presented: everybody, my contacts, and nobody.

If you select “nobody,” nobody will be able to tell if you are currently using WhatsApp or when you last used it.

The IT and science team at The Sun Online previously explained how to send WhatsApp disappearing messages.

Go to Settings > Account > Privacy after opening your app on a mobile device.

Toggle the switch to the On position after looking for Disappearing Messages.

You must first archive and then unarchive the conversation in order to activate it on an existing one.

By navigating to a WhatsApp contact’s individual preferences, you may also activate Disappearing Messages on particular chats.

Of course, the system is not error-free. There is no way to delete the material from someone’s phone using an official WhatsApp function if they screenshot or record your talk.
