After learning on Friday that there will be no P2 class in the world championship the following year, the 2019–20 P2 champion team made the announcement.

United, which is co-owned by McLaren Racing manager Zak Brown, will continue to participate in both the European and Asian Le Mans Series in addition to making its maiden full-season IMSA assault with a pair of ORECA-Gibson 07s.

Richard Dean, team manager, stated that the “foreseeable future” involved the “redirection of our entire WEC team” to IMSA.

After attending a total of eight races in the North American series since 2018, he disclosed that participating in IMSA full-time was a long-held goal for United.

“It’s easy for us to say that we have always wanted to do a full season in IMSA right now, but it’s true,” he said in an interview with Autosport. This has given us the motivation we needed to get started.

Dean called the elimination of P2 from the WEC “a shame,” although he claimed to understand the FIA and Automobile Club de l’Ouest’s reasoning.

It is a direct outcome of Hypercar’s success, which can only be positive for the sport as a whole, he added.

As the Hypercar field grid grows to 20 or more vehicles and the new LMGT3 class replaces GTE Am, there won’t be enough for P2.

Dean emphasized that United continues to have aspirations of joining the WEC’s top class in the future.

The objective hasn’t altered; we still aspire to compete in Hypercar races, he stated.

“We are still working on it and pushing hard, but if it is going to happen, there has to be a door that’s unlocked.”

According to Dean, United is not discounting the difficulty of competing in IMSA.

It would be completely incorrect to think that we will perform similarly in IMSA, he added. “We have won races in the WEC, ELMS, and Asian series every time we have entered cars,” he said.

“It is very different, and we are not underestimating the challenge.”

Dean stated that no drivers have yet been signed by United for its IMSA project.

Additionally, he reiterated United’s plan to submit a proposal for two of the 15 grid spots at the Le Mans 24 Hours that are set aside for P2 competitors in 2019.

It will remain in the ELMS with a project centered on LMP2, and it also plans to continue in the enlarged 2024 Asian series in both P2 and LMP3.

At the 2018 Daytona 24 Hours, United entered its first independent IMSA event with a Ligier-Gibson JS P217 for Fernando Alonso, Lando Norris, and Phil Hanson.

Its most recent American performance was an ORECA in the Daytona and Sebring endurance races in 2017.

In 2011, United entered vehicles in two significant US endurance races alongside other teams.

In order to field a Riley-Ford MkXX at Daytona during a Grand American Sportscar Series event, it teamed up with Michael Shank Racing. Later, it collaborated with OAK Racing to run a Pescarolo-Judd/BMW 01 LMP2 at the American Le Mans Series 1000-mile enduro at Road Atlanta.

2024 Ducati Panigale V2 Gets A Black-On-Black Makeover

Whether you are aware of it or not, every motorcycle OEM utilizes a particular, frequently copyrighted color in all aspects of its business, including branding and bike liveries. Kawasaki Green and Yamaha Blue are two examples of colors that are very much in use. In contrast to KTM orange, Harley’s color scheme is orange and black, and Husqvarna proudly wears its blue and yellow heritage color in tribute to its Swedish heritage.

Of course, discussing Ducati would be incomplete without mentioning Ducati Red. A certified colorimetric (that’s a color scientist, and they do exist) would probably be able to describe in detail how it visually differs from Honda Red, different from MV Agusta red, and different from GasGas red.

Though it’s reasonable to argue that if you can see colors in the first place, you can probably distinguish between those reds easily, even for those of us who aren’t expert color scientists.

That’s not to imply, though, that Ducati avoids experimenting with colors other than its trademark red hue—far from it. Both Ducati Yellow and its favorite hue of red can be used to describe the brand. However, neither the red nor the yellow of Ducati resemble those of Ferrari, another neighboring company in the Italian Motor Valley, which has its own distinguishing red and yellow hues.

As a result, on June 6, 2023, the team from Borgo Panigale officially unveiled the 2024 Ducati Panigale V2. The daring new look from Bologna for this season is its Black-On-Black paint, though you can still have it in Ducati Red if you’d like. Maybe someone at Ducati said, “I see a red bike and I want to paint it black.”

The new Ducati Red paint—as well as the Iceberg White liveries that Bologna recently unveiled on the 2024 SuperSport 950 S and the 2024 Monster—stands in sharp contrast to the Black-On-Black livery. In terms of science, black is understood to be the absence of light, therefore anybody attempting to imitate black as a color must conceptually contort oneself in order to produce the deepest paint (and avoid upsetting Anish Kapoor in the process).

White, on the other hand, is made up of every color that may possibly exist. Ducati Red is one of those colors.

The 2024 Panigale V2 maintains its technical integrity whilst receiving a new livery. The Panigale V2 lineup is presently the sole twin in Ducati’s 2024 lineup, and it is powered by a 955cc V-twin. It is rated to produce 76.7 pound-feet of torque at 9,000 rpm and 155 horsepower at 10,750 rpm.

The cost and selection will differ by location. According to Ducati, the 2024 Panigale V2 should begin showing up in showrooms in the US and Canada in the third quarter of 2023. The MSRP in the US is $18,595, while the MSRP in Canada is $20,895.

Wottan Motor’s Latest Scooter, The Storm-R 300

The Storm-R 300, a new sports scooter from Wottan Motor, expands the Storm family of the Spanish company.

It is the 300 cc version of the Storm-R 125, from which it varies in a number of characteristics and provides more in the way of performance and equipment.

While the engine foundation is primarily influenced by Wottan’s other 300 cc Storm models, notably the Storm-S 300, the visual base is mostly shared with the 125.

The standard heated grips, which add extra comfort to a year-round vehicle (and thus also for cold climates), are the main differences from the Storm-R 125, aside from the engine size.

However, there are also backlit handlebar grips for convenience in low light, TFT color instrumentation, keyless start, an aluminum side stand, and an LED lighting system.

Technically speaking, the braking system has been improved over the 125 by adding a second brake disc to the front wheel.

This double disc has a 260 mm diameter and is equipped with four-piston radial-mount callipers, while the disc on the rear wheel is 230 mm. Maximum safety is provided by the two-channel ABS.

The rims are 15 inches wide at the front and 14 inches wide at the back, with tires measuring 120/70 and 140/60, respectively.

In addition, the weight has increased to 172 kilograms, and the seat is positioned 770 millimeters above the ground, which is a very accessible height.

An integral swinging component of the frame, the engine is a 278 cc, four-valve, four-stroke single cylinder with SOHC electronic fuel injection.

The highest output is 24.5 Nm (24.5 lb-ft) of torque at 6,250 rpm and 19.5 kW (26.5 hp) of maximum output power at 8,250 rpm. The highest speed is 140 km/h, with an automated CVT gearbox.

Wheelbase is 1540 mm, fuel tank capacity is 13 litres, and the frame is made of tubular steel. It also includes an inverted fork and two shock absorbers with adjustable preload.

There is no more Range Rover Sport SVR. The Range Rover Sport SV will live forever. The final letter of the suffix and the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine created by Jaguar Land Rover are dropped in the new high-performance SUV.

A twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine with mild hybrid technology from BMW has taken its place. It generates a staggering 626 hp and 590 lb-ft (800 Newton meters) of torque, which is 59 hp and 74 lb-ft (100 Nm) more than it did previously.

However, the torque number we cited is only accessible when Dynamic Launch Mode is on; otherwise, the engine only generates 551 lb-ft (750 Nm). The ultra-luxury FF 91 EV from EV startup Faraday Future has been priced, and it is quite pricey.

The limited edition launch model, officially known as the Faraday Future FF 91 2.0 Futurist Alliance, has a starting price of $309,000, which places it squarely in the Bentley and Rolls-Royce league. The FF 91 2.0 Futurist Alliance, which has a global limit of 300 units, is currently available for pre-order online in China and the US for a $5,000 deposit that is entirely refundable.

Faraday Future is also accepting bookings for the FF 91 2.0 Futurist, a less expensive model with a starting price of $249,000, in addition to the launch edition model. Deposit of $1,500 is required for this trim level. The website lists a third model, the base FF 91 2.0, although it is not yet available for pre-order. Pricing is also not yet disclosed, while the deposit for this model is $1,000 in the US.

The darkness of space and the azure sky of Earth collide at the Kármán Line. This Cullinan takes inspiration from this phenomena and paints the SUV a bespoke shade of Stardust Blue with black accents. It features a satin finish on the grille. We apply a transparent lacquer on the wheels.

A limited edition Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament is also included with the special edition. It is made of blue-tinted lacquer over titanium that was 3D printed.

The name Blue Shadow and the Black Badge infinity emblem are engraved on the base by the business. This portion is inlaid by artisans in the color Charles Blue.

The dashboard and door panels inside change color from bottom to top, going from black to blue to white. To get this appearance, Rolls-Royce applies six coats of paint in five different colors. Blue and transparent glass granules are combined with a clear finish on top.

Another striking feature of this Cullinan is a unique edition of the brand’s Starlight Headliner. There are five different colors of thread used to give the image of the moon, complete with craters, a textured aspect. It will take two days and 250,000 individual stitches to finish the pattern. There are 384 blue LEDs and 799 white LEDs.

The chairs also get extraordinary information. A design made of leather perforations is inspired by the view of Earth from orbit. Over 75,000 tiny holes, which a craftsperson manually drills into each chair, are present. The tables in the rear include an aluminum inlay and a Piano Black veneer with a glass sparkle finish.

On the dashboard sits an unusual clock. It contains Blue Shadow etching and light blue anodized portions.

The Cullinan Black Badge Blue Shadow has a number of wonderful extras. The design of the seats matches that of the vehicle cover. The SUV’s cargo is the same color as its body.

Customers may order a 1:8 scale replica of the unique car that has working interior and exterior illumination.
