With The 990 RC R, KTM Is Finally Bringing Back A Street Superbike
May 9, 2024 / By Zunair Tahir / Automotive News
Now, everyone, take a big breath; this isn’t just another desperate April Fools’ joke. It’s also not a sophisticated new Punk’d episode on MTV. Why would you even assume that, because neither of us are famous in the first place?
No, this is a genuine motorbike. This motorbike is about to arrive. And I really couldn’t be happier about it. People, KTM is manufacturing street-legal superbikes once more, and right now, we have the first information and teaser pictures of the machine, and it looks insane.
Having said that, KTM will also introduce the 990 RC TRACK, a track-only, hard-core variant. The motorcycle will be “Crafted by KTM in their Austrian factory, the modifications strip away the road-legal essentials, incorporate protective components, fine-tune adjustments, customize further, and revise racing bodywork, including a full exhaust system.” A track-only model: why? Why not, that’s the reason.
While the complete model won’t be shown right away, KTM said that the 990 RC R will be “unveiled in early 2024 in the form of a prototype, making appearances as a wildcard entry in non-point scoring outings across select European Supersport series.”
The KTM 990 RC R is a ground-breaking innovation for individuals who thrive on the rush of cornering, according to Riaan Neveling, Head of KTM Global Marketing.
It’s meant for people who lean nearly knee-level with the road and then push the envelope by dragging their elbows across the racetrack’s surface. Power and reputation are available on this bike without the astronomical price. says KTM Global Marketing Head Riaan Neveling.

However, no information has been released on the price, weight, horsepower, torque, or any other specifications. All of it will probably happen closer to the debut date in 2025. But holy crap, this looks amazing. But what are your thoughts, everyone? Do you share my excitement for a new KTM superbike that will be on the road?
Sincerely, I’m going crazy trying to figure out where I want to take this hellion.

It won’t be long until the new Factory series of KTM motocross bikes make their appearance.
The first round of the AMA Supercross championship won’t happen until January 6, but before then, we may watch the wealthiest and sportiest KTM motocross production—the SX-F Factory—in action.
There will be an abundance of details, in true Factory fashion, which add to the series’ allure and desirability.
KTM Cross 2024 – New SX-F Factory Edition
The most significant innovations are found elsewhere in the frame, such as the new engine mounts, which are lighter and more flexible and provide a better ride and handling during use, and the new rear monoshock, which is now stiffer and lighter. Other unique features, such as the orange-painted frame and the anodized steering guards, are unmistakably Factory models.
The new Offroad Connectivity Unit is standard on the 450 and 250 Factory models, and there are additional features like an Akrapovič exhaust, a new filter box cover, a 4-bolt Factory engine guard reinforced with carbon fiber, and a gorgeous billet Hinson clutch cover.
KTM Cross 2024
All in all, winter enthusiasts will have a lot to look forward to this year.
Although there will be no shortage of Power Parts for the ordinary version of the next KTM SX, the Factory variants continue to be the most eye-catching and desirable of the KTM lineup.

The Duke line of bikes from KTM is undoubtedly something worth trying if you’re a fan of naked streetfighters like myself. Although some may not find the ultra-futuristic and cutting design of this brand appealing, there’s no doubting the performance and technology these motorcycles provide. Indeed, KTM has always strived to be at the top of its class, from the little 125 Duke to the fire-breathing 1290 Super Duke R bikes.
Three decades of innovation are embodied in the new KTM 1390 Super Duke R Evo.
2024 KTM 1390 Super Duke R Evo Side Profile
The 1390 Super Duke R Evo was unveiled by KTM, shocking us into believing that the 1290 Super Duke R line of hypernakeds could not be any better. It’s interesting to note that KTM chose to reveal the 990 Duke at EICMA rather than this bike. It would turn out that this affront to Team Orange fans would only serve to heighten the anticipation for its next flagship hypernaked machine. Put on your helmet and get ready for a ton of wicked wheelies since the new bike is reportedly better, more powerful, and more high-tech than any of its predecessors in every way.
According to KTM, the 1390 Super Duke R Evo, especially in the naked class, is the epitome of sheer power and innovation. The 1390 Super Duke R Evo has a more angular and athletic appearance than the 1290, and one of the most noticeable cosmetic updates is a newly redesigned headlamp. Opinions on said headlamp are bound to differ, however I personally think the split-LED headlight from the prior generation is better. However, I’m sure that with time, this new design will win over many other high-performance naked bike aficionados as well as myself.
2024 KTM 1390 Super Duke R Evo – Lean
The 1390 Super Duke R Evo’s whole construction has also been updated to provide a more aggressive look and better performance. With its lightweight construction, compact frame, and reduced profile, the bike maintains a relatively low weight of 467 pounds wet while taking on an aggressive posture. The 1390 Super Duke R Evo, like its predecessor, doesn’t do much to disguise its power. Its huge engine, exposed orange frame, and one-piece subframe are eye-catching features, and even from a distance, its distinctive angular lines and loud orange paint make it easy to spot.
2024 KTM 1390 Super Duke R Evo – Wheelie
The 1390 Super Duke R Evo has a ton of performance to offer. To say it is extravagant would actually be a vast understatement. The revised LC8 engine, which has been bored to 1,350cc, powers it. Additionally, an integrated cam shift is included for increased economy and performance. The upgraded V-twin engine, which is fuel-injected and liquid-cooled, produces an incredible 188 horsepower and 107 pound-feet of torque. Moreover, a larger capacity fuel tank that has been modified increases range, while an improved airbox enhances performance.
2024 KTM 1390 Super Duke R Evo Parked
Regarding technology, the 1390 Super Duke R Evo represents the pinnacle of KTM’s technological capabilities. Now, Team Orange has never been afraid to include a wide range of technology in its bikes, even entry-level models intended for novices.
Having said that, the 1390 offers almost every performance-focused technological feature you can imagine. Yes, it has traction control, cornering ABS, and different riding modes. Of course, WP offers electrically adjustable suspension as well. Aside from all of this, riders wishing to improve the bike’s already outstanding performance may choose for extra technological enhancements like engine brake control and upgraded suspension modules.
2024 KTM 1390 Super Duke R Evo – Parked
As it happens, the polarized headlamp I described before isn’t only decorative. Not only is the new headlight lighter than the old one, but it also has “Smart” features that should increase visibility in low light. The headlamp automatically modifies its brightness based on the surrounding lighting. Since KTM’s second-generation Dukes, a comparable function has always been available, so it will be fascinating to see how much better this is on the new 1390.
PRICE:
A hypernaked of this level will undoubtedly fetch a high price, both in terms of availability and cost. The MSRP of the 2024 KTM 1390 Super Duke R Evo is $21,499 USD. I advise getting in contact with your local KTM dealer if you want to order this beast right now or would want to see it in person.
2024 KTM 1390 Super Duke R Evo
It’s important to note that KTM’s 1390 Super Duke was introduced to commemorate 30 years of the Duke brand. As a result, it honors its heritage, as seen by hues that pay respect to the original Super Duke, which made its debut in 2005. Moreover, KTM PowerParts and PowerWear may be used to customize the 1390 Super Duke R Evo.
2024 KTM 390 Adventure Will Include Two New Color Choices
November 6, 2023 / By Zunair Tahir / Automotive News
It debuted suspension adjustability last year; this year, new graphics are added. KTM has revealed that the 390 Adventure will be back for the 2024 model year, and it will have two new color options. The 2024 edition of the 390 Adventure retains its new paint and design while the 2023 upgrade includes important rider-focused features including suspension adjustment.
2024 ktm 390 Adventure
A four-stroke, 373.2cc single-cylinder engine producing 32 kilowatts (about 42.9 horsepower) and 37 newton-meters (approximately 27.2 pound-feet) of torque powers the 2024 KTM 390 Adventure. This engine has 89 mm of bore and 60 mm of stroke.
It is coupled to a six-speed gearbox that has a PASC antihopping clutch. Although it is not fitted as standard, the 390 Adventure may be purchased with an up-and-down quickshifter as a KTM accessory. This engine complies with Euro Five regulations.
The steel trellis frame that serves as the foundation of the 2024 KTM 390 Adventure can be simply disassembled with just four screws. In addition, it has WP Apex suspension on both ends, including a rear monoshock and a 43mm front fork. The suspension of the 2024 390 Adventure includes standard adjustment for compression and rebound.
There are two separate braking setups: a front 320mm single disc and a rear 230mm single disc. The 2024 390 Adventure is equipped with traction control and two-channel, lean-angle-sensitive ABS as standard.
The 390 Adventure comes with cast wheels that are either 17 or 19 inches in diameter. Even more adventurous 390 Adventure wheels are offered with heavy-duty spoked wheels. Ask your KTM shop for spoked wheels or alloys if you’re interested in a 390 Adventure but can’t see them on the vehicle in front of you.
With its 3.8-gallon fuel tank, the 2024 KTM 390 Adventure is said to have a 248-mile range on a single fill-up. Your range will depend on how hard you ride, just like it will with any other motorbike, but it’s comforting to know that you should be able to travel a certain distance before having to stop.
The rider can choose to shift the slim-profile, adjustable rally-style windshield to a higher or lower position.
A 5-inch full-color TFT display and Bluetooth connectivity to your preferred smartphone are features of the 2024 KTM 390 Adventure. You may connect your phone to the KTM Connect app and use the TFT display to access music, messages, calls, navigation, and more.
When riding off-road, riders of the 390 Adventure may additionally enable rear wheel slip by using the Offroad Mode. The bodywork and engine guard of the 390 Adventure are standard, as is an LED headlamp. The KTM 390 Adventure will be offered in two color variants globally starting in 2024. The color scheme is orange and black, like you would expect from a KTM product. There’s also a gray and white hue available for the 2024 390 Adventure.
KTM offers their motorcycles in markets all around the world, with regional variations in availability, price, and color. According to KTM, shops worldwide should start stocking the 2024 390 Adventure in November 2023.
Although price details have not yet been made public, contacting your neighborhood KTM dealer with any inquiries you may have will be your best option for the most up-to-date pricing information in your region.
Brabus 1300 R Masterpiece Edition Is The Company’s Last KTM Collaboration
September 28, 2023 / By Zunair Tahir / Automotive News
Brabus and KTM announced the Brabus 1300 R Masterpiece Edition, the third and final bike in their trilogy, will be released on September 27, 2023. Only 50 of these incredibly rare bikes will ever be produced and sold globally, with 25 available in the Onyx Black and 25 available in Diamond White colorways. Both variations feature even more unique Brabus carbon fiber bodywork than ever before, as well as highlights painted in a tint that Brabus refers to as Frozen Gold.
Only 50 Will Ever Be Made
BRABUS 1300 R Onyx Black and Diamond White
This is Brabus and KTM’s third joint project, all of which are based on the KTM 1290 Super Duke R Evo. The first was the Brabus 1300 R, which was introduced in February 2022 and was available in two colors and 154 total motorcycles. In less than two minutes, the batch was sold out. The Brabus 1300 R Edition 23 followed, which had 290 motorcycles in total and was also available in two colors. It too sold out nearly immediately after being on sale.
The KTM LC8 V-twin engine, which powers the Brabus 1300 R Masterpiece Edition, is rated to produce 180 horsepower at 9,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 140 newton-meters (103 pound-feet) at 8,000 rpm. According to reports, the period from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour (or 62 mph) is 3.2 seconds. 270 km/h, or slightly under 168 mph, is the top speed.
BRABUS 1300 R Left Angle
While Brabus had complete creative control over the majority of this bike’s components, the semi-active WP Apex suspension, which has both an automated and a manually adjustable mode, handles suspension responsibilities.
A WP Apex Pro 7117 steering damper is also included. The front brakes have two Brembo Stylema 4-piston calipers and 320mm floating rotors, while the rear brakes have a Brembo 2-piston caliper and a single 240mm disc. A standard feature set includes ride modes, quickshifter, cornering and super moto ABS, and an adaptive brake light.
BRABUS 1300 R Closeup
It’s time to discuss the Brabus of it all at this point. Since 1977, Brabus has been involved in the automobile tuning industry, and it is known for its expertise in carbon fibre, leathercraft, and CNC-machined components. The company’s name is frequently shown alongside those of partners including Mercedes-Benz, Smart, Maybach, and most recently, KTM.
BRABUS 1300 R Right Angle
How can Brabus improve on the work it accomplished for the 1300 R’s earlier iterations? Naturally, you turn the carbon fiber and exclusivity up. It is obvious that very few individuals will ever acquire one of these Masterpiece Editions because just 25 pieces of each color are being produced.
Regarding carbon fiber, Brabus expanded its already vast collection of carbon fibre parts and pieces found from headlight to taillight by adding a single-sided swingarm cover, dash cover, connection cover, and rear side fairing covers.
BRABUS 1300 R Left Side
The front of the bike has a sizable, spherical Brabus LED headlamp, side fairings with winglets inspired by MotoGP, a front spoiler, and a tail with a single seat and license plate bracket.
The wheels are forged alloy Brabus Monoblock Z “Gold Platinum” units that Brabus produced specifically for this bike. A CNC triple clamp, adjustable CNC clutch and brake levers, CNC aluminum brake and clutch reservoir covers, adjustable CNC foot pegs, bar end mirrors and a slip-on dual exhaust with Frozen Gold accent rings are just a few more Brabus-made features.
Both the grips and the seat are heated, and the seat has a distinctive “Diamond Rising” quilted Brabus leather design.
BRABUS 1300 R Exhaust
A customized Brabus indoor motorbike cover, floor mat and carbon key box are also included with the Brabus 1300 R Masterpiece Edition, in addition to a distinctive Brabus 1300 R Masterpiece emblem on the seat cushion.
Without value-added tax (VAT), the Brabus 1300 R Masterpiece Edition costs 41,930 Euros in Germany. As of September 27, 2023, that is almost $44,065. You can get in touch with Brabus at the number shown in our Sources to learn more if you’re interested.
Along with their new motorcycle, buyers of the Brabus 1300 R Masterpiece Edition will also get a special corporate tour of the firm’s headquarters in Bottrop, Germany.
Due to its boisterous personality, KTM’s street bike portfolio is adored by many riders all over the world. Additionally, the Austrian manufacturer’s models are tier-based so that riders of different backgrounds and skill levels find them appealing. In particular, this applies to the Duke line of naked bikes.
It Now Resembles The 390 Duke, Its Older Sister, Almost Exactly
For instance, beginners may quite easily swing a leg over the sporty-looking KTM 200 Duke, a naked bike with performance that is very similar to a performance scooter. After then, they can upgrade to the 390 Duke, which produces almost twice as much power as the 200.
After graduating from the single-cylinder motorcycles’ performance, the 790 and 890 Duke are available to provide even more thrills.
Last but not least, if that level of performance is still insufficient to pique your interest, the 1290 Super Duke R’s 177 horsepower ought to be more than enough to satisfy the needs of even the most power-hungry rider.
To deliver better performance, appearance, and an all-around better riding experience, KTM keeps improving all of its models. The Austrian company has this time focused on the 200 Duke, the smallest model in its current lineup.
The little model now has an LED headlamp that matches the appearance of its larger brothers, bringing it in harmoniously with the rest of the Duke series.
Even while this modification may seem little, it significantly improves the bike’s appearance because the halogen lamp on the previous model didn’t seem to blend well with the bike’s very contemporary aesthetics. What’s more, KTM’s split LED light is renowned for providing excellent road illumination. This modification is definitely more than welcome, especially in Asia where the 200 Duke is the commuter bike of choice.
Everything about the performance side of the equation stays the same. The 199cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder KTM 200 Duke is regarded as the most performance-oriented model in the sub-200cc naked bike market. Its engine produces 25 horsepower at 10,000 rpm and 14 pound-feet of torque at 8,000 rpm. For comparison, the Royal Enfield Scram 411, a motorcycle with more than twice the displacement, has the same amount of power.
The redesigned 200 Duke will debut in India first before expanding to other markets, as is the case with the remainder of KTM’s small displacement range. Retail pricing in India is Rs 196,000, or around $2,391 USD, and the new headlamp raises that price by Rs 3,000, or a pitiful $37 USD. The KTM 200 Duke retails for $4,199 USD in the US, taxes and shipping not included.
