Performance Upgrade Revealed For The Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport

April 24, 2023 / By Zunair Tahir / Automotive News

Aerodynamic effectiveness and steady performance over long distances are prioritized in the new design.

The newest generation of the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport, outfitted with the new Evo-kit to further improve its performance on the track, has been introduced by Porsche Motorsport. The new layout prioritizes aerodynamic efficiency and consistent performance over long distances and is primarily intended for GT2 racing series, track days, and Clubsport events.

The high-performance 911 GT2 RS sports vehicle from the 991 generation is built upon, but the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport Evo-kit adds considerably optimized aerodynamics, revised 18-inch wheels, reworked shock absorbers, and better safety systems.

Porsche Motorsport intends to provide its clients with the tools necessary to continue competing at the pinnacle of the GT2 industry with the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport Evo-kit, according to Michael Dreiser, Director of Sales at Porsche Motorsport.

With a modified front splitter and a taller Gurney flap on the rear wing to improve aerodynamic balance, the new layout has undergone considerable aerodynamic revision. A redesigned apron, improved air intakes for brake cooling, and a radiator located in the middle are all features of the front section.

The front lid has also been changed to offer the proper ventilation. The revised shock absorber arrangement results in consistently quick lap times by reducing tire wear during competitions.

In order to accommodate bigger rims, which have increased in size from 10.5 to 12 inches on the front axle and from 12.5 to 13 inches at the back, the new Evo-kit also has widened front and rear fenders. The side sills were recently redesigned to make a visually seamless transition between the wheels.

In addition, wider air ports in the rear apron provide more effective ventilation of the engine compartment and back brakes, lowering the thermal load on parts, especially in high-temperature situations.

The most recent configuration stage will make its debut this weekend in Italy’s Monza as a part of the European Fanatec GT2 series, which consists of six racing weekends with two races each lasting around 50 minutes. In addition to an SRO package that includes a quick-fill fuel system and enhanced side impact cushioning, the new rain lights meet FIA specifications.

The studio’s next game, Forza Horizon 5, will be published in November 2021, according to Xbox’s E3 2021 preview earlier this month.

Playground also highlighted the future game’s influence on Forza Horizon 4 content production on Monday’s edition of video show Forza Monthly. Following the release of the Series 37 update for Forza Horizon 4 on June 29, subsequent updates will not feature new content.

Playground senior producer Tom Butcher remarked, “With Forza Horizon 5’s release being our priority over the next several months, we’ve made some modifications to Forza Horizon 4’s monthly series updates.”

“As a result, beginning with Series update 38, players who are familiar with the game will notice the restoration of material from Series 7 to 32. Consider it a mix tape that includes the return of some of your favorite material as well as newly introduced new features.”

“Although we aren’t expecting to introduce any brand-new vehicles or features in the coming months, you should have a lot of fun reliving these situations and seeing how you manage them the second time around,” he continued. Photo challenges, prizes, the Forzathon Shop, and backstage voting will all be available as usual, thanks to all of our latest Series updates.”

When asked if the game will continue to receive updates after the release of Forza Horizon 5, Butcher stated, “We do intend to make sure Forza Horizon 4 continues to be a great experience, but we aren’t ready to disclose precise plans quite yet.”
