PM Shehbaz Urges The Energy Industry To Take Action To Decrease Circular Debt

The decision to limit market hours to 8 p.m. on Monday was made by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in order to conserve energy. He also instructed the relevant agencies to take action.

Participants at a meeting on the energy sector, presided over by the prime minister, discussed adopting a comprehensive plan to handle the current circular debt in the oil and gas industries.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) administration, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), declared had totally eliminated the circular debt during its 2013–2018 term in office. He promised to use consistent efforts and smart planning to get the debt issue under control.

PM Sharif gave the order to implement energy sector reforms in such a way that the circular debt could be paid off.

The prime minister was cited as stating that Sui gas distribution firms should enhance their bill-recovery procedures and that users of gas and electricity should not be subjected to any additional costs.

To preserve power and gas, Shehbaz orders all marketplaces in Pakistan to close at 8 p.m.

He stated that it was important to make the mechanism for paying gas and electricity bills efficient.

The federal cabinet will receive an overview of the energy-saving strategy on Tuesday during the meeting.

To get their input on the matter, the chief ministers of the provinces have also been called to the cabinet meeting.

According to the prime minister, it is important to combat gas and power theft and losses in the energy transmission system.

According to media sources citing the electricity division, the circular debt, which was Rs2.253 trillion by the end of September last year, has increased by Rs185 billion to reach Rs2.437 trillion.

The government has decided to limit market hours nationwide till 8pm in an effort to save gas and power.

According to a government source, the federal cabinet will convene on Tuesday to discuss the execution of an energy conservation plan, which is the only item on the agenda.

Imran’s Removal As PTI Leader Is In Way, The ECP Informs IHC

Following Imran Khan’s disqualification in the Toshakhana issue, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) told the Islamabad High Court on Tuesday that it had started the process to remove him from his position as PTI chairman.

A district and sessions court in Islamabad has postponed its decision on an ECP petition in the Toshakhana case against Imran Khan, according to ECP Director General Law Mohammad Arshad, who also informed the court that the next hearing of the reference has been set for December 20.

The trial court had heard the commission’s argument on November 22 and is scheduled to render a decision on December 15.

In response to its ruling in the Toshakhana case, the ECP had started the process on December 5 to have Imran Khan resigned as chairman of the PTI. According to Article 63(1)(p) of the Constitution, he was disqualified because he made “false assertions and erroneous disclosure.”

Imran Khan’s appeal against the ECP’s decision to disqualify him was taken up by IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, however owing to a lack of time, further proceedings were tabled until Dec. 20.

Ex-PM’s counsel terms commission’s disqualification order unconstitutional

Imran Khan’s attorney, Syed Ali Zafar, emphasised the case’s importance in light of the ECP hearings. He informed the IHC that Imran Khan was being sought to be disqualified under Article 62(1)(f) in the Toshakhana matter after the National Assembly speaker had mechanically approved the pleas of a few MNAs without providing any justification, documentation, or proof.

He argued that both the ECP order and the NA speaker’s decision were unlawful. The attorney contended that there must be an earlier pronouncement by a court of law against the member in order for a disqualification under Article 62(1)(f) to occur.

He emphasized that neither before the ECP nor when the commission was asked to respond to the inquiries raised in the reference was there a declaration from a court of law against Imran Khan as required by Article 62(1)(f) in this matter.

Therefore, the speaker’s reference is unjustified and unlawful, and the attorney said that ECP should have rejected the reference by concluding that Imran Khan is not ineligible under Article 62(1)(f).

The attorney countered that the ECP was not a court of law and that the Supreme Court had repeatedly ruled that the ECP could not issue a declaration under Article 62(1)(f) of the Constitution. He also brought up the most recent Faisal Vawda case, in which the Supreme Court determined that the Commission lacked authority to issue any declarations according to Article 62(1). (f).

The attorney described the current situation as peculiar since assets were bought and traded legally, yet Imran Khan was nonetheless disqualified by the ECP. He cited several decisions of the higher courts where it was determined that while all errors in statements were not grounds for disqualification, it was necessary to determine if the declaration was made with an ulterior or dishonest purpose.

The attorney emphasized that there was no need for Imran Khan to omit the presents from his assets declaration because he had legitimately and in compliance with the regulations bought the assets, and the ECP’s premise that this was done dishonestly was completely false.

Javed Afridi Claims That MG4 Can Travel From Lahore To Peshawar On A Single Charge

Javed Afridi has once more taken to Twitter, this time to discuss the MG4 electric hatchback. Being the driving force behind MG vehicles in Pakistan, Afridi frequently tweets and posts information on different MG vehicles, regardless of whether they are offered there or not.

Javed Afridi recently revealed photographs of the new MG4 along with other important details about the electric car in a tweet. According to him, the MG4 can operate for 490.85 kilometer’s on a single charge and can be completely charged in 35 minutes.

This distance will allow the MG4 to travel on the Lahore to Peshawar motorway without the need to recharge, according to Afridi.

MG4 made its debut early this year and is already causing a stir in the regions where it is available (MG4 is known as MG Mulan in its native China). It is the first worldwide EV vehicle from MG to start selling in Europe.

The 330 P3 and 512 S racing cars from the Prancing Horse, notably, are referenced in the retro-futuristic style. The VGT from Maranello was designed as a single-seater vehicle with a closed cockpit. The “75” graphics signify the 75th anniversary of the brand’s first race car, the 1947 125 S.

Ferrari built the VGT with two side channels that direct front airflow over the side pods and around the cockpit, using a unique patented aerodynamic method.

The same twin-turbo 3.0-liter engine that propels the 296 GTB/GTS, GT3 and 499P racing cars also provides propulsion.

Ferrari claims that the Vision Gran Turismo can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than two seconds and from 0 to 124 mph (200 km/h) in less than five seconds. Ferrari VGT will debut in Gran Turismo 7 on December 23 after being unveiled today during the Gran Turismo World Finals in Monte Carlo.

The fictitious race automobile, however, already appears in a game’s audience promotion question. By receiving the virtual keys on December 15, the winner will have early access to the race vehicle.

On that day, a full-scale model will be unveiled to the public at the Maranello museum, where it will be on display with other special Ferrari projects until March 2023.
