There are supposedly no longer any plans for a jointly produced electric sports car between European niche automakers Alpine and Lotus. According to Automotive News Europe, the partnership ended amicably, though no explicit justification for the choice was given.

However, There Might Be Some Cooperation In Other Areas

In 2021, the partnership was declared. Alpine’s parent firm, Renault Group, announced at the time that Alpine will transform into a performance brand that only sold electric vehicles.

The idea was to have everything ready by the middle of the decade, with both brands sharing a next-generation electric sports car that was co-developed with Lotus. According to Lotus, who was quoted by Automotive News Europe, the business simply opted not to move further with the idea, while future collaboration is still conceivable.

It’s important to note that the report singles out the proposed sports vehicle project in particular. Future electric vehicle plans for Alpine include larger SUVs that might be built on Lotus platforms.

By “future electric ambitions,” we mean cars from Renault’s lineup that aren’t more imminent EVs, such a fast hatchback based on the new Renault 5 and a crossover called the GT X-Over.

Naturally, Lotus debuted the Eletre last year, the company’s first SUV, which was thought to serve as the framework for Alpine’s more substantial offerings. Initially, Alpine was going to release these SUVs later in the decade.

With its turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the current generation A110 is still very much in existence. The A110 R, the most recent model of the tiny sports car that made its debut in October 2022, is powered by a mid-mount engine that produces 300 horsepower.

It accelerates from zero to sixty miles per hour in less than four seconds while remaining a road-legal vehicle thanks to track-focused suspension and a hearty dose of carbon fiber. Road-legal, at least, in Europe.

Despite the fact that the current A110 won’t be available for purchase in North America until at least 2026, Renault is at least looking at other export possibilities.

For The 24 Hours Of Le Mans, Porsche Has Unveiled A New Livery

The updated color scheme honors the 75th anniversary of the brand and the 100th anniversary of a race that Porsche Penske Motorsport has won a record 19 times overall with its three entries in the double-points round of the World Endurance Championship on June 10–11.

Along with the two entries for the entire season, the extra car entered in the French endure also commemorates Porsche’s birth anniversary by racing with the number #75.

There are 15 stripes in the livery, which flow from the nose to the back of each car.

Each shade honors an endurance racer and the colors it competed in throughout Porsche’s lengthy sports car history.

The three 919 Hybrid LMP1s entered in 2015 each raced in a distinctive color, while two of the four 911 RSRs in the GTE Pro class competed in Le Mans-themed liveries in 2018.

One was styled like the ‘pink pig’ 917/20 that competed in the 24 Hours in 1971, while the other was painted in hues reminiscent of their Rothmans-sponsored 956 and 962 Group C cars from the 1980s.

Porsche Motorsport intends to provide its clients with the tools necessary to continue competing at the pinnacle of the GT2 industry with the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport Evo-kit, according to Michael Dreiser, Director of Sales at Porsche Motorsport.

With a modified front splitter and a taller Gurney flap on the rear wing to improve aerodynamic balance, the new layout has undergone considerable aerodynamic revision. A redesigned apron, improved air intakes for brake cooling, and a radiator located in the middle are all features of the front section.

The front lid has also been changed to offer the proper ventilation. The revised shock absorber arrangement results in consistently quick lap times by reducing tire wear during competitions.

In order to accommodate bigger rims, which have increased in size from 10.5 to 12 inches on the front axle and from 12.5 to 13 inches at the back, the new Evo-kit also has widened front and rear fenders. A 550cc twin-cylinder engine with a 270-degree crankshaft that generates 51 horsepower powers the AK Premium. The engine is coupled with a constantly variable transmission for a comfortable and easy ride. Throttle-by-wire technology on the scooter enables smoother acceleration and more precise engine control. Additionally, it has two different power settings that may be chosen from in its programmable riding modes.

The AK Premium boasts a menacing front fascia with aggressive LEDs and more aggressive bodywork. The design makes the Premium seem even more futuristic in style than the already athletic aesthetic of the AK550. The AK Premium has a number of extra amenities that make it a comfortable and secure ride for long-distance trips, including traction control and cruise control.

With a weight of 238 kilogrammes, the new Kymco AK Premium challenges the heavyweights in its division. The Yamaha TMAX weighs 216 kilogrammes as a point of reference. But Kymco has made sure that the weight is evenly distributed and that the scooter is simple to use.
