The government instructed an automotive monitoring committee to conduct a forensic study of recent price spikes in various car models across the board on Thursday.

Members of the committee were requested to choose neutral professional experts for the forensic study during a high-level meeting chaired by Federal Secretary for Industries and Production Jawad Malik, and the report should be presented within two weeks.

The ministry has directed a monitoring group to conduct a comprehensive investigation of the recent increase in automobile prices.

The Price Of The Proton X70 Has Skyrocketed

Al-Haj Automotive has been waiting patiently for the price of the Proton X70 to rise. The manufacturer has now published the increased costs for its small SUV, which follow the debut of locally produced models.

Despite the fact that the price rises are just for one model, the increase is substantial, reaching Rs. 860,000. The following are the new Proton X70 pricing, which are effective immediately:

Proton will shortly begin delivering the first batch of domestically produced X70 SUVs around the country. It’s a small SUV that goes up against the Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, and MG HS.

It comes in two versions, both of which include a 1.5-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol engine with 176 horsepower and 255 Nm of torque. The power is sent to the front wheels or all four wheels via the 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox (depending on the variant).

Here’s how the new pricing operate, just to be clear:

Those who ordered the X70 before the price increase will pay Rs. 5.3 million for the Executive AWD model and Rs. 5.65 million for the Premium FWD model.
People who have already purchased or will purchase an X70 following the price increase will pay Rs. 5.4 million for Executive AWD and Rs. 5.75 million for Premium FWD.

A digital instrument cluster, steering wheel controls, a push-start button, power-folding mirrors, a day-night rearview mirror, ventilated front seats, dual-zone temperature control, cruise control, and other modern driver aids are all standard on the Proton X70.

Despite the price increase, the X70 remains a competitive SUV that has the ability to outperform its competitors if Al-Haj Automotive can keep up with demand.

President Empowers Suzuki Customers to Get a Refund Of Up to 12% Of Their Sales Tax Overpayment

President Arif Alvi has supported the Federal Tax Ombudsman’s (FTO) decision to refund more than 12.5 percent of sales tax collected from Suzuki car customers.

Pak Suzuki was sued under Section 10(1) of the Federal Tax Ombudsman Ordinance, 2000 (FTO Ordinance) for collecting 17 percent sales tax on 998cc automobiles in August 2021, despite the fact that the real rate at the time was 12.5 percent. As a result, taxpayers were compelled to pay more than was truly owed.

The judgement was confirmed by Pakistan’s President, who dismissed FBR’s appeals against the return suggestion. FTO Dr Asif Mahmood Jah, speaking during a press conference, said:

“The President’s directive will assist customers around the country who paid an excessive amount of Sales Tax from Suzuki car purchasers.”

The complainants ordered 998cc automobiles in advance of June 2021, paying a total of Rs 2.145 million in advance, with an estimated delivery date of July 2021. Meanwhile, by the Finance Act of 2021, the rate of Sales Tax on such automobiles was reduced from 17 percent to 12.5 percent, and the FED charged at 2.5 percent was abolished entirely, with effect from July 1, 2021. Furthermore, the word “time of supply” was changed from “time of sale” to “time of delivery” in Section 2(44) of the Sales Tax Act of 1990.

The automobiles were delivered to the complainants together with an invoice for Rs 2.069 million, which reflected the revised rate in effect after July 2021, rather than the rate in effect when the car was booked in June 2021. However, the firm assessed Sales Tax on the previous rates rather than the invoice date “the time of sale” and refused to refund the difference, denying Middle-Income Complainants the full benefit of the lower tax burden. The complaint also contacted FBR through email on its hotline, asking a reimbursement of the difference in sales tax.

The FBR responded by sending an email stating that sales tax on automobiles up to 1000cc had been decreased to 12.5 percent. However, the FBR did not fix the matter by arranging for a reimbursement of the sales tax difference. According to the FBR:

“At the time of reserving the car in June 2021 and its delivery in August 2021, there was a lack of clarity on the term of “time of supply.” The appropriate period for establishing the rate of taxes was when payment was received by the provider, according to the definition in June 2021, when Sales Tax was 17 percent and FED was 2.5 percent. However, in the budget 2022-2023, both the definition and the applicable tax rates were changed, and now “supply of goods, other than under hire purchase agreement, means the time at which the goods are delivered or made available to the recipient of the supply” means “the time at which the goods are delivered or made available to the recipient of the supply.”

Despite the fact that the act’s amendments were meant to assist taxpayers, the objections were dismissed. The Federal Tax Ombudsman has issued instructions to all advisors to decide all similar cases in accordance with a decision by the President of Pakistan, and FTO hopes that the Federal Bureau of Revenue will ensure prompt compliance with the President’s directives, as the decision has a far-reaching impact by providing relief to not only the complaints but many others who may not have so far opted for such relief, FTO added.

In Pakistan, a New Electric Car is Will Be Available for just PKR. 3 Per kilometer

Good news for Pakistanis, Sitara and Tesla have introduced ‘Multi Purpose Commercial Electric Vehicles’ and ‘EV Charger‘ and ‘AC Charger‘ for charging them.

According to the report, these vehicles have been imported from China by Sitara Engineers Faisalabad and Tesla Industries Islamabad under joint ventures and they will start assembling in Pakistan by next year. It travels 250 km and has a maximum range of 300 km while the battery life is close to 1 million km. The company has also announced a local warranty of 1.5 million kilometers or five years to be completed first.

Pak Suzuki May Debut the New Swift Next Month

Those who buy electric vehicles get rid of petrol or diesel as well as mobile oil and filter replacement. Expenses on petrol and diesel can be said to be cost saving, but their real advantage is that their silencer does not emit any kind of smoke but it does not have silencer at all.

People can charge at home at night easily go to work tomorrow and it will be pollution free and it will be quite fast because electric cars deliver power at any rpm and they will be less maintenance then any petrol or diesel cars.

Amir Hussain, CEO of Gogo Motors, a subsidiary of Tesla Motors, has revealed that his company has completed the installation of electric chargers and now Pakistanis can travel on any electric car from Peshawar to Rahim Yar Khan. ۔

Charging stations have been installed in Islamabad, Peshawar, Bhairah, Pindi Bhattian, Abdul Hakim and Multan and a charger will be installed in Faisalabad in the same month.

The First Locally Assembled Peugeot 2008 SUV in Pakistan Has Showed up

Peugeot Pakistan appears to be on the verge of making its much-anticipated debut, as a new social media video shows the first batch of its 2008 SUVs moving off the local assembly plant in Port Qasim, Karachi.

Peugeot History

The Peugeot 2008 is a subcompact crossover SUV built by Stellantis, a French automaker.
In 2013, it was initially launched to the worldwide market. It had a 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-four engine with a six-speed automated transmission. Depending on the engine size, it also came with a five-speed manual or a six-speed manual transmission.

In 2016, it underwent a makeover, and in 2017, it was upgraded to a six-speed automated transmission (1.2 turbo petrol) The Peugeot 2008 is a subcompact crossover SUV that competes with the Kia Stonic, MG ZS, Proton X50, and DFSK Glory 500 SUV.

There are presently no price specifics for the car in Pakistan, but it is expected that LMC would pitch the Peugeot brand as a high-end option to Kia, implying that the 2008 might cost anywhere between Rs. 4.3 million and Rs. 4.8 million.

Toyota Motor Corporation has overcome General Motors to win the best-seller title in the United States for 2021, a title it had held since 1931, or 90 years. Last year, Toyota sold 2.332 million automobiles in the United States, while General Motors ended the year with 2.218 million units sold.

Compared to Oshan X7, “Oshan X7 Plus” looks like a bigger and more powerful vehicle. Right hand drive vehicles will also be manufactured and sold in Pakistan.

Last month, Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) released several designs of an SUV without revealing its name. However, it became clear that the firm is planning to introduce a new SUV. Finally, the Oshan X7 Plus, the company’s latest product, has been revealed.

The Oshan X7 Plus appears to be a more substantial version of the Oshan X7. This SUV will compete with the Toyota Fortuner and the Kia Sorento 3rd Generation due to its overall attractiveness and size.

Pakistan will be the first market outside of China to receive the Oshan X7 Plus, according to the manufacturer. Master Changan also intends to export the RHD version of this SUV from Pakistan to other foreign markets.

The SUV will most likely be available in 5- and 7-seat configurations. It will be powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine from Changan’s newest blue whale series, which generates 178 horsepower and 300 Nm torque and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 8.23 seconds.

Changan also boasts that this beefed-up SUV would have an incredible 14 kilometres per litre in fuel economy. This is comparable to the average fuel consumption of other basic sedans. Lahore: Pak Suzuki Motors has started preparations to introduce new Suzuki Swift in the local market.

The carmaker had shut down the third generation Swift after selling it for more than a decade, after which it plans to launch the fourth generation car in the Pakistani market next year.

Now, according to the details, the fourth generation Swift is finally expected to appear in the Pakistani market in the second half of 2022. According to the report, the fourth generation Swift is expected to have a 1.2 liter engine and the price of the car in the local market will be between 2.5 million to 2.8 million.

It is worth mentioning here that the new Swift that is being promoted in Pakistan was launched in the rest of the world in the 4th generation hatchback Swift 2016 and it has disappeared from the international market this year. It has been criticized that Pak Suzuki has once again managed to maintain its tradition of launching internationally retired models in Pakistan.

Their is a lot of need of small hatchback cars to be launched in Pakistan many big cars manufacture that are producing cars in Pakistan a lot of them have their focus on the SUV Category and other on 4 door saloons but less cars manufacture focus on the small cars.
