Indian Cricketers Grumble About Their Sandwiches At World Cup Being Served Cold

Indian Cricketers Grumble About Their Sandwiches At World Cup Being Served Cold

October 31, 2022 / By Zunair Tahir / Sport News

Indian cricket team members have voiced their displeasure about the Twenty20 World Cup’s food quality, saying that they are speaking out for the sake of all nations.

The team trained at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Tuesday in preparation for their Super 12 match against the Netherlands, and they weren’t impressed with the cold sandwiches, bananas, and falafel that were provided to them afterward.

The teams and support personnel will be fed during the competition by local vendors.

Some team members made the decision to purchase food online and will keep doing so unless the food quality improves.

According to an unidentified source from the Indian team who spoke to AFP, “the team alerted the ground authorities about the food we had.”

Will receiving a hamburger after a three-hour exercise make you happy?

I am aware that all of the teams are receiving the same information, but they are not speaking up since the majority of them are unable to do so.

The insider stated, “We didn’t practice today and are hoping for better results in our next net session; if not, the players will place online orders like we did on Tuesday.”

India is a cricketing giant, and the team is said to have demanded improved performances at the upcoming practise session or else they could take the matter up with the sport’s governing authorities.

The World Food Program estimates that 25% of the world’s undernourished population reside in India.

A sandwich, falafel, and some fruit would no doubt make many of the 21% of people who live on less than $1.90 (USD) a day happy.

One of the most paid athletes in the world, Virat Kohli makes more than $20 million a year from sponsorships alone thanks to his stardom.

A thrilling last-ball triumph over Australia was achieved by India earlier this week at the MCG in front of 90,000 spectators thanks to Kohli’s batsman ship.

His undefeated 82 enabled India smash Pakistan’s 8-159 and secure an amazing victory from a 4-31 position.

“I have no clue how that happened, and I lack words.” I simply persisted in my belief and stayed put to the very end. I’m honestly at a loss for words,” Kohli remarked following the game.

Turkey Introduces TOGG, The President’s High-Profile Project

Turkey Introduces TOGG, The President’s High-Profile Project

October 31, 2022 / By Zunair Tahir / Automotive News

A new electric vehicle called the TOGG has begun manufacturing in Turkey. It’s actually Turkey’s first ever automobile. However, detractors claim that President Erdogan’s desire to win re-election is the fundamental motivation for the entire endeavor.

Will Erogan receive support from the TOGG for reelection?

In order to increase its independence from other nations, Turkey has recently implemented a variety of political and economic reforms. It is now witnessing a significant advancement in the vehicle sector. Turkey’s Automobile Joint Venture Group (TOGG) is starting to produce the nation’s first-ever automobile.

On October 29, the brand-new TOGG auto plant started producing cars. Given that it is the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic, the date has a very clear meaning.

In order to increase Turkey’s independence from international automakers, TOGG was created in 2018. According to writer and automotive specialist Emre zpeynirci, who has closely followed the TOGG project, “it is a significant step contributing to the growth of Turkey’s vehicle sector.”

The facility of TOGG in Istanbul will produce 17,000 to 18,000 electric automobiles in the upcoming year. The facility is intended to accommodate up to 175,000 vehicles yearly, a goal that decision-makers want to achieve in the following five years.

A Challenging Project

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is up for reelection next summer, is largely regarded as viewing the TOGG automobile as a prestige project. This automobile divides people’s opinions, which is a serious concern, claims zpeynirci.

On June 18, voters will decide whether to elect Erdogan’s successor or to retain him in office.

Even though the TOGG facility has started producing, it will be some time before the first car is offered for sale. According to the corporation, the first vehicles would be available in March 2023, only a few weeks before the election.

Critics of President Erdogan and the AKP believe he is utilizing TOGG to increase his prospects of winning reelection. According to zpeynirci, “Of course, the state always supports investments like this, but if there are political problems, this will undermine the initiative before [a single] car is even manufactured.”

“People’s car” advertising has been used to describe the TOGG vehicle. In fact, according to zpeynirci, when Erdogan originally announced the idea, many “thought this would be a car affordable for everyone in Turkey.”

Not only will many people find this retail pricing disappointing. Additionally, Turkey lacks the infrastructure required for electric cars. According to Automotive Data CEO Hüsamettin Yalçn, “Turkey’s infrastructure is not yet prepared to move to e-cars.” According to him, the average person shouldn’t have to worry about finding enough charging stations between Ankara and Istanbul.

Currently, TOGG automobiles are geared more at domestic than international consumers. According to zpeynirci, this is caused in part by the car’s component mix, which raises production costs. He claims that TOGG’s automobiles will be competitive on the global market if it is successful in employing 70% components created in Turkey.

$1.5 Billion ADB Loan Agreement, PKR Increases By 68 Paisa versus The Dollar

October 25, 2022 / By Zunair Tahir / Business News

In the interbank market on Tuesday, the Pakistani rupee (PKR) appreciated by 68 pesos in relation to the US dollar.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the local currency increased by 68 paisa or 0.31 percent from yesterday’s finish of Rs220.41 to conclude at Rs219.73 per $1.

READ MORE:The Rupee’s Comeback Is It Only Temporary?

After Pakistan inked a loan deal with the ADB for financial support as well as assistance in flood-related restoration and rebuilding work, analysts ascribed this adjustment to projected inflows of $1.5 billion.

The ADB agreement’s signature and the anticipated debt rescheduling from China, according to Saad Bin Naseer, director of Mettis Global, a web-based financial portal, might help the rupee maintain its pace in the days to come.

Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s finance minister, is now in the US for meetings with the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF), and he is scheduled to travel to China shortly to conduct talks on Pakistan’s bilateral debt restructuring.

According to Naseer, agreements on new projects with China were also anticipated during the minister’s visit; these developments might be positive for the rupee.

In addition to the loan agreement with ADB, the country’s import bill had decreased, according to Zafar Peracha, general secretary of the Exchange Commission of Pakistan (Ecap), which resulted in a smaller current account deficit. He asserted that “friendly nations” are anticipated to release $4 billion in money in the upcoming months, which will support the rupee even more.

According to him, the finance minister has a trip to France coming up that might provide more “positive news” for Pakistan and support the rupee even more.

Pakistan & Other Nations Are Experiencing WhatsApp Outages

October 25, 2022 / By Zunair Tahir / Tech News

According to the outage monitor Downdetector, WhatsApp’s messaging service was unavailable to customers on Tuesday.

According to the website’s report, the app went offline just before noon, and #WhatsApp trended on Pakistani Twitter with 13,000 individuals discussing the outage.

Users complained that despite the app’s display of “connected,” they were unable to send messages.

As a result of a recent outage, users of the Meta-owned programmer were unable to access the instant messaging service WhatsApp in Pakistan and other nations on Tuesday.

Although the Facebook-owned business has not released a statement, people rushed to social media when they were unable to connect on WhatsApp.

India too reported experiencing an outage.

A Meta representative stated, “We’re aware that some users are now experiencing problems sending messages, and we’re trying to restore WhatsApp for everyone as soon as possible.”

Major social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp had a significant outage in October 2021 that may have affected tens of millions of users.

outage monitor Outages were detected by Down detector in densely populated cities like Paris and Washington.

With thousands of complaints of outages posted online, Down detector, an online portal that gives consumers real-time information about services, confirmed disruptions.

The talking service isn’t functioning for millions of customers, according to the connection tracker.

Many users reported outages on other social media sites while WhatsApp went down, and the issue also generated humorous responses on Twitter and other platforms where WhatsApp is popular.

Imran Advises PTI Supporters To Suspend Protest & Get Ready For Long March

Imran Advises PTI Supporters To Suspend Protest & Get Ready For Long March

October 22, 2022 / By Zunair Tahir / Pakistan News

Imran Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), urged his followers on Friday to end the nationwide demonstrations over the ECP’s decision to disqualify him in the Toshakhana reference.

The leader of the PTI blasted the ruling coalition for seeking to “silence” him in a pre-recorded address that was shown on TV. Additionally, he claimed that he had predicted the outcome and accused the chief election commissioner of prejudice.

At the conclusion of his speech, he changed his tone and urged his followers to halt the nationwide demonstrations.

Imran declared: “I am urging the protestors to halt their demonstrations because people are in hardship.” He then vowed to battle these “thieves” till the end of time.

He also asked his fans to prepare for the lengthy march of the party. “I had stated that I would host a lengthy march by the month’s end. I’ll stage the largest demonstration. I shall keep pushing for true freedom until the rule of law is achieved.

Pakistan, according to Imran, is at a turning point. Allah desires that we stand up to these robbers. Before we get ready to fight them, we can’t get rid of these robbers.

He said that he will issue the call for the long march as he concluded his speech.

Imran made his comments after PTI supporters protested the election watchdog’s decision to dismiss the former premier in key cities throughout the nation.

PTI members and supporters gathered in huge numbers in Islamabad at the Faizabad Interchange, where police used tear gas to stop the demonstrators from proceeding in that direction.

The workers stopped traffic on the artery by blocking the main route and torching tyres.

Several hundred demonstrators attempted to block a crucial entrance to Islamabad, but were repelled with tear gas, according Pakistani police spokesman Sohail Khan.

He said that the demonstrators tried unsuccessfully to block other highways in the city as well as attack police with stones, wounding three officers.

The highway from Faizabad to Islamabad has been unblocked, according to a later report from the Islamabad police. According to the police, the route from Islamabad would also be unblocked shortly. They also noted that some locals were obstructing traffic by lighting trees on fire.

The growing number of protestors caused traffic on the street to get backed up. Police also used water cannons to disperse the crowd because of the impending violence.

Ali Haider Zaidi and other party officials could be seen participating in what was described as a “calm demonstration” in images posted by the party’s official Twitter account.

In Pakistan, Suzuki Releases The Swift GL “Limited Edition.”

October 14, 2022 / By Zunair Tahir / Automotive News

Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) has unsurprisingly introduced the Swift GL Limited Edition. Despite its high price, the all-new Swift has quickly gained a sizable portion of the market since its launch in February of this year.

The specifics state that there are just two “improvements” made to the Swift GL Limited Edition above the base GL CVT model. These upgrades include a center armrest in-between the passenger seats and a rear top spoiler.

Other Characteristics Are:

  • 2 airbags
  • Climate Control
  • Anti-lock Braking System
  • Hill Start Assist
  • Vehicle Stability Control
  • USB and Aux Connectivity
  • Sat-Nav
  • Cruise Control
  • Keyless entry
  • Electronic parking brake

The new Swift GL Limited Edition costs Rs. 3,450,000, which is Rs. 30,000 more than the Swift GL CVT basic model. This is a significant premium for the enhancements. In addition, it boasts the same 1.2-liter four-cylinder K12C Dualjet petrol engine with naturally aspirated combustion, which delivers 90 horsepower and 120 Nm of torque to the front wheels with a CVT automatic transmission.

Sources claim that PSMC is continuing to export units, including Swift, despite the recent price increases and production reductions. Its sales will probably increase once a new Limited Edition variation is added.

The Last Lamborghini Aventador Is A Tribute To The Distinctive Miura Roadster

The Last Lamborghini Aventador Is A Tribute To The Distinctive Miura Roadster

October 14, 2022 / By Zunair Tahir / Automotive News

This Ultimae Roadster was modelled by Bertone’s unique Miura P400 Roadster.

Earlier this year, when the Felicity Ace caught fire, 15 Aventador supercars drowned in the Atlantic. Lamborghini was forced to rebuild every single one of them because they were meant to be the last client vehicles for the company’s flagship Sant’Agata Bolognese model.

Actually, during the catastrophic catastrophe, the Italian exotic carmaker lost roughly 85 vehicles, the most of which were Urus SUVs. The very final Aventador was unveiled in late September.

The Aventador’s epilogue, an Ultimae Roadster created by the Ad Personam customisation division, was only seen on the assembly line at the Italian facility. The last of the species now has a comprehensive photo album online where it is shown adjacent to its source of inspiration.

GALLERY:a

The droptop V12 vehicle, painted in a custom shade of Azzuro Flake, is modelled after the jaw-droppingly gorgeous Miura Roadster.

At the Brussels Auto Show in April 1968, Bertone showed his one-of, which was never put into production. As the Aventador’s swan song mirrors the livery of its predecessor with Grigio Liqueo and Nero Aldebaran accents for the lower half of the body, the spirit of the Miura P400 Roadster is alive and well in this design.

The inside follows the same theme, paying homage to the late 1960s prototype with Bianco Leda leather upholstery and Nero Aldebaran accents surrounding the headrests. The dashboard, which is covered in Nero Ade Alcantara and has Bianco Leda stitching, boldly displays a Miura logo that is also visible outside, more especially on the side rocker.

The unusual Miura Roadster was purchased by the International Lead and Zinc Research Organization, in case you’re wondering what happened to it. All the replaceable parts were switched out with components composed of zinc or lead by the new owner. In addition, ILZRO provided the inside and outside of the automobile matching green paint jobs.

It was subsequently given the new moniker ZN 75 and utilized for promotional reasons while touring various design centres all over the world. It ultimately went through a couple ownership changes before being fully repaired and displayed at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2008, when it was back to its original specifications. In the Lamborghini class, it won second place.

For the winter season, the Punjab School Education Department typically modifies the school hours throughout the whole province of Punjab in the month of October. These hours are in place until April 15 of the following year, or 2023.

It is evident from last year’s notices that starting on October 16, 2022, all schools in Punjab, whether public and private, would have new schedules.

The Rupee’s Comeback Is It Only Temporary?

The Rupee’s Comeback Is It Only Temporary?

October 12, 2022 / By Zunair Tahir / Business News

How the US dollar performs versus other major currencies and how rapidly our external sector indicators improve will largely determine if Finance Minister Ishaq Dar can lower the exchange rate to Rs200 per US dollar, as he has frequently indicated. In relation to the major currencies of the globe, the US dollar seems destined to hold its current strength and maybe even increase it.

There is potential for the external economy to develop. But assuming that sufficient advancement would be made during this fiscal year is overly optimistic. Therefore, we shouldn’t expect the rupee to appreciate in value during this quarter or the following two quarters of this fiscal year in a “sustainable and large” way.

On September 22, the Pakistani rupee saw an all-time low of 239,71 to the US dollar. Since then, it has appreciated significantly, gaining 8.25 percent. On October 7, it came to a close at 219.92 per dollar.

The rupee, which has already increased significantly during the last two weeks ending on October 7, might yet rise further but only little. However, we shouldn’t rule out the likelihood of brief declines in the local currency during this quarter and later.

The current exchange rate increase is not just the result of optimistic feelings sparked by Mr. Ishaq Dar’s homecoming; rather, it has also been influenced by the decreasing dollar index since September 28.

The US dollar index, which gauges the health of the dollar against a basket of the six most important international currencies, has been declining since its peak on September 27. However, that does not imply that the US dollar’s upward trajectory has stopped or reversed. That only reveals the impact of the extraordinary tightening of interest rates by the Central Bank of Europe, the Bank of England, and the uncommon UK and Japanese involvement in the foreign exchange market as the “reverse currency war” rages on.

Central banks from all of the world’s major economies are waging a “war” to defend their own currencies. This conflict was started by the US Federal Reserve. As the Fed has stated it would maintain hiking interest rates to combat the US’s decades-high inflation, it may be anticipated that they will continue to do so.

What does this all signify for the dollar-rupee exchange rate? It follows that the rupee’s relative strength against them will continue to decline, most notably against the reference currency of the USD, as all major world currencies, including the USD, Euro, Japanese Yen, and Chinese Yuan, march forward – at varying rates.

The recent rupee rebound is not just attributable to the optimism sparked by Mr. Ishaq Dar’s reappointment as finance minister. It has also been influenced by the US dollar index’s brief decline that began on September 28.

On September 22, as the US dollar index was still actively setting new records, the rupee plunged to an all-time low against the dollar, falling to 239.71. Later, the “Dar factor” and the falling dollar index supported the rupee’s rebound.

It is well known that Dar insisted on maintaining the artificially high value of the rupee in defiance of the then-leadership of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). The magnitude of the current account deficits and other pertinent external account statistics from FY14 to FY17 are other items that are available to everyone.

The rupee was maintained in an artificially stable position, as is evident from a close analysis of the balance of payments accounts for those four years. For instance, even though we had a $12.1 billion current account deficit in FY17, the rupee was remarkably steady, losing just 10 paisa to the US dollar annually!

But that was then. Now, times have changed.

Pakistan’s T20 World Cup Challenge Depends On Shaheen’s Fitness

Pakistan’s T20 World Cup Challenge Depends On Shaheen’s Fitness

October 12, 2022 / By Zunair Tahir / Sport News

At the Twenty20 World Cup in Australia, Pakistan, a former champion, will rely on pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi to be at his destructive best.

After overcoming a right knee injury sustained in the first Test against Sri Lanka in July, the 22-year-old was permitted to join the team on Tuesday.

He missed the tri-series this week in New Zealand, the Twenty20 series against England, and the Asia Cup.

After a lengthy time of rehabilitation in London, the tall left-arm fast bowler will depart for Australia. He will play two warm-up matches in Brisbane the following week to restore his rhythm, the first of which is against England on Monday.

In order to be ready for their eye-popping first encounter against India at the expansive Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 23, which is predicted to draw 90,000 fans, Pakistan will play a last warm-up match against Afghanistan on the following Wednesday.

In the T20 World Cup in Dubai last year, Shaheen demolished India’s top order by removing Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli, finishing with scores of 3-31 as Pakistan cruised to a 10-wicket triumph.

According to captain Babar Azam, “He has healed nicely, and we are certain that he will be at his best come the India game.”

“Shaheen leads our strong fast bowling assault for us.”

Fakhar Zaman, a top-order batsman who made 55 runs unbeaten against Australia in last year’s semi-final, is also making progress after suffering a knee injury.

The nation’s cricket body said on Tuesday that Zaman, one of the three travelling reserves for the T20 World Cup, will accompany Shaheen to Brisbane to finish his recovery.

Since the World Cup last year, Pakistan has defeated Bangladesh and the West Indies in 3-0 T20 series, suffered a lone T20 loss to Australia in Lahore, and advanced to the Asia Cup final in the United Arab Emirates before falling to Sri Lanka.

At home, England won the series 4-3. Prior to Tuesday’s tri-series loss to the Black Caps, Pakistan had won the first two games against Bangladesh and New Zealand.

Azam remarked, “Our squad has done well, therefore I am hopeful about our prospects in the World Cup.” His team is in Group 2, where the top two teams go to the semifinals, along with India, Bangladesh, South Africa, and two qualifiers.

With the rapidly developing Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, and Mohammad Hasnain complementing Shaheen, Pakistan has a strong and diverse bowling assault.

Leg-spinner Shadab Khan, left-armer Mohammad Nawaz, off-spinner Iftikhar Ahmed, and leg-spinner Usman Qadir make up the spin quartet.

Despite having Azam and Mohammad Rizwan at the top of the order, Pakistan’s middle order batting has remained their weak point.

When they scored 203 to defeat England in Karachi last month, the duo established a global record for the biggest chase without losing a wicket thanks to Azam’s unbeaten 110 and Rizwan’s 88-run opening partnership—their second double-century opening stand in T20s.

However, if the combination falters, the team’s batting insufficiency may be made obvious.

Azam acknowledges, “Aside from the positives, we had some worries and I think our middle-order has to step up,” citing the failure to consistently produce results by Iftikhar, Shan Masood, Khushdil Shah, Haider Ali, and Asif Ali despite their being given opportunities.

We sent out several batting and bowling combinations to measure our bench strength. We are also improving our fielding.
